Xigmatek Announces TYR-SD962 CPU Cooler

Xigmatek announced the TYR-SD962, its latest entry-level CPU cooler. Featuring a conventional tower-type heatsink design, the cooler is made of a base that doubles up as a tiny heatsink, from which two 6 mm thick copper heat pipes pass, making direct contact with the CPU. The heat pipes convey heat to an aluminium fin-stack, which is ventilated by a 92 mm fan. Xigmatek bundles a 9225 fluid-dynamic bearing fan, which takes in PWM control, spins between 1,200 and 2,800 RPM, with a noise output of up to 28 dBA. Measuring 65 mm x 85 mm x 121 mm (excluding the fan), the heatsink weighs 310 g. It's game for thermal loads of up to 100W, and is compatible with LGA1150, FM2+, and AM3+ (95W TDP or below only).

Is it compatible with LGA 1155 or just LGA 1150, FM2+, AM3+ only as you have mentioned?

You can't be compatible with LGA1150 and not be with 1155 and 1156
Same goes for AM2+(+) and FM2

While this is a low end cooler they would be hard pressed to retail this for less than $20 and make any money.

With the CoolerMaster Hyper T2 and TX3 going for under $20, pricing this cooler any higher and they won't sell.

Unless one of the three model shows a significant cooling or noise performance diff over the others, these are basically commodity coolers that people buy out of convenience. These coolers are designed for modest thermal load applications where quiet operation is the primary concern.

BTW, it would be nice to see Xigmatek revive availability of the Aegir SD128264 in the U.S. as it is one of the best HSFs ever sold and relatively inexpensive at ~$60.

I'd like to see them bring back the Gaia SD1283. For $25 it was crazy good.

I currently have one and yeah they were sweet for the price and can add a second fan with ease and with no silly metal clips and believe it can handle 130w with the 3 heatpipes it has.

I all so had the original 775 one to which was nice and all so cheap .
