Razer, a world leader in connected devices and software for gamers, today announced the Razer Seirēn (stylized as "Seirēn" and pronounced "Sigh-ren"), a plug-and-play digital microphone designed for studio-grade recording and streaming.

The Razer Seirēn features a versatile multi-pattern USB digital connection capable of four different recording pattern configurations with three custom-tuned 14 mm condenser capsules. This makes the Razer Seirēn digital microphone ideal for the needs of professional musicians, streamers and YouTubers who demand superior clarity. With plug-and-play simplicity this microphone is simple to use at the studio or at home.

The Razer Seirēn also allows content creators to quickly switch between 4 different polar recording patterns (Cardioid, Stereo, Bidirectional and Omnidirectional) by rotating the main control knob. Allowing for greater versatility of use depending on recording applications. The microphones built-in headphone amplifier allows for zero latency, real time accurate monitoring of recordings to ensure users sound exactly as they intend to.

"Platforms like YouTube and Twitch are a big part of how people experience their media today, and they shape how we interact with each other," says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. "Tuned for a professional-style setup and able to be assembled and transported quickly and easily, the Razer Seirēn is a microphone designed specifically for streamers and YouTubers."

Razer is also initiating a "Razer Sponsored Streamer Program" to help aspiring content creators and streamers take their recordings to a professional level. Content creators will be divided up into 3 experience levels and are entitled to different levels of sponsorships ranging from a sponsored Razer Seirēn to a full Razer peripheral suite. Razer is committed to help budding streamers achieve higher level recordings and create immersive content.

For more information on the Razer Sponsored Streamer Program, visit this page.

The Razer Seirēn digital microphone is the company's latest audio product designed to go beyond pure gaming. Earlier this year, Razer launched the Leviathan, a gaming and music soundbar and the Adaro audio line, a series of four headphones tuned for music and designed for comfort and durability. The Adaro collection continues to be popular among EDM artists, musicians and avid music listeners ever since its acclaimed launch at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show.

Beyond its music partners, Razer works with some of the top professional gaming YouTubers and streamers. Many of which were inspirations in the creation of the Razer Seirēn and will play roles in its future development.

Professional recording accessories such as a shock mount and pop filter are also available to pair with the Razer Seirēn digital microphone for the complete recording setup. These accessories along with the Razer Seirēn professional bundle will be available exclusively on RazerStore.

Price: Razer Seirēn digital microphone U.S. $179.99 / EU €179.99.

Better than the USB offerings from Blue Microphones? Awaiting a review to prove this in any way beats out a similarly priced USB cardioid, or even a proper mic that is similarly priced for that matter.

I myself wonder if it is better than a Samson USB Go (half the price) for voice recording... It serves me well but sometimes Dragon Speaking warns me of low recording quality (this dictation software is well known for being a never finished product after 2 decades...)

Oh yeah sure, razer known for such quality products (sarcasm) and totally not just marketing bs, is going to just produce a better mic then a dedicated company who has been making mics for years.

I'm not convinced this would be better than my Zoom H1, it functions as a USB mic very well, and it's $70 cheaper.

seriously? you are comparing a shitty webcam to something that's marketed for studio and professional use? well don't sweat it mate, I'm sure you have no intentions or capabilities of buying ANY studio gears for that matter and just here to spread some hate.

I am probably weird, because advertisement has completely opposite effect on me: the more marketing bullshit is in an article the more suspicious I am.
Considering the company behind it, my "overpriced crap! stay away!" alarm went off almost immediatelly.
I have Samson C01U and while there are some things I don't like about it (sound quality is not one of them), I wouldn't change it.

Without an objective, scientific test of the performance of these mics it's all speculation and ad hype. If I had a dollar for every exaggerated or false claim made by advertisers in one day, I'd be a billionaire so take it all with a large grain of salt until you see properly conducted testing on any hardware.

If you like a product because of the color or LEDs or some other insignificant doodad and are not concerned about actual performance, then buy whatever makes you happy. The marketeers are counting on the technically challenged to buy lots of crap which = lots of money in their bank accts. and out of your acct.

Seems like it. Doesn't seem like Razer's usual M.O. but given their other recent audio products, I'm pretty sure someone at Razer discovered the bottomless "audio-fool" gold mine that BOSE and Monster have been milking for ages. Whoever the OEM is, I doubt it's one that usually makes high-end audio gear.

Don't forget, kids! Like all Razer products, the Seirēn goes great with those Beats by Dr.Dre headphones and those Apple smartphones!

I'll stick with my Audio Technica microphones.

premium premium, this fits right in with all the other budget category condenser microphones, Studio Projects B3, Studio Electronics X1, AKG 220, Audio Technica AT2020 etc etc

Sure for studio and a NONE razer product, if i was after studio gear i would not be looking in to razer for it that's for sure.

And shows what you know about the C920 as it's very far from shitty.

You all forgot something: Razer is usually a trend setter.

If this means bazillion of almost-good mics would soon flooding the market, isn't that good for all of us?

You all forgot something: Razer is usually a trend setter.

If this means bazillion of almost-good mics would soon flooding the market, isn't that good for all of us?

Oh yeah sure, razer known for such quality products (sarcasm) and totally not just marketing bs, is going to just produce a better mic then a dedicated company who has been making mics for years.

I honestly doubt this is Razer's product. More likely some other company did the product for them and they just stuck their branding there.
