Raidmax Intros XT-Series Entry-level PSUs

Raidmax announced three XT-series entry-level PSUs, the 300-Watt RX-300XT, the 400-Watt RX-400XT, and the 500-Watt RX-500XT. The three offer a very basic feature-set, but offer a few neat features such as a low-noise, temperature-controlled 120 mm fan; Core "Haswell" C-states support, a single +12V rail design, and modern electrical protection mechanisms, against over/under-voltage, overload, and short-circuit. The 300W model lacks PCIe power cables; the 400W model offers a single 6-pin cable; while the 500W tops it with a 6+2 pin cable in addition to the 6-pin. Other connectors include 24-pin ATX, 4+4 pin EPS, 4x SATA-power, and two 4-pin Molex. The company didn't announce pricing.

"modern electrical protection mechanisms, against over/under-voltage, overload, and short-circuit."...flame detector would be more useful, or possibly a spark-arresting muffler. If this is Raidmax's lowest-priced line, why splurge on those high-end $15 and $20 Raidmax PSUs, these should be under $10!

What the hell, a 110/230V switch in 2015's PSU? Caps are pretty sure some third tier crap etc..

I can't speak for this one or any newer model Raidmax but their biggest problem years ago was the fan; it would go out well before the components. In 24/7 operation the fans died around the 6 month mark. Replacing those fans got another 6 months of 24/7 use out of the units until they were completely inoperable.

Here in Finland XFX 550W is the cheapest PSU we usually recommend for builds, 450W was before but now it has second tier caps, but AFAIK 550W is still 100% Japanese cap-filled.

In PSU, too much saving is never a good thing. Japanese caps, even somehow modern design and 5 year warranty are the minimum for me.
