ASRock Next Generation Fatal1ty Motherboard Lineup Pictured

ASRock is designing multiple Fatal1ty Killer branded socket LGA1151 motherboards, which it plans to differentiate using a new naming scheme - K3, K4, and K6. The company showed off some of its latest such boards at Computex. The series is led by the Z170 Gaming K6, followed by the Z170 Gaming K4, H170 Performance, and the Z170-e ITX. All four feature the familiar red+black color scheme, and Fatal1ty branding.

The Z170 Gaming K6 leads the pack with a strong 13-phase VRM, 3-way multi-GPU support, dual-channel DDR4-3000 support, dual SATA-Express 16 Gb/s, Ultra M.2 (32 Gb/s), Killer E2200 NIC, and high-end 115 dBA SNR audio. The Z170 Gaming K4 and H170 Performance share a common PCB design, offering all essentials from this platform, and are intended for gaming PC builds with single graphics cards; the Z170 ITX offers a decent feature-set despite its space constraints, including mSATA, Ultra M.2 (32 Gb/s), SATA-Express 16 Gb/s, and USB 3.1 ports. ASRock did not finalize heatsink design.

They originally used the Fatal1ty name from that online gamer whom played games such as doom and counter strike. I think it's the reason why they still do it. Anyways, i think they used him as a muppet to help promote their products to the average noob. Creative and Asus did it too ?
Sooo, years later, i still refrain from buying anything with the Fatal1ty label on it, in-fact, i don't even look at them twice. maybe because i am an old cynical bast**&!

@Haytch, my main rig is actually a Fatal1ty. The quality and attention to detail is amazing, and the BIOS options even more numerous than their Extremes. Anyway, I took a chance after reading numerous reviews. When this mb/cpu I have now finally needs to be replaced, I would probably buy another, newer one.

Can anybody tell me what Chokes they use in the VRM section?
They appear similar to the 60A "Blackwing" chokes as used by ASUS but don't have the "wings"
According to the Asrock site, they are "Premium power chokes" I'm not sure if that is a brand name or a description.

@Haytch, my main rig is actually a Fatal1ty. The quality and attention to detail is amazing, and the BIOS options even more numerous than their Extremes. Anyway, I took a chance after reading numerous reviews. When this mb/cpu I have now finally needs to be replaced, I would probably buy another, newer one.

I didn't mean to offend anyone (If i did, i am sorry). I guess what i was trying to say, is that by them using Fatal1ty, i was put off that particular product range. I know it was aimed at gamers, so it must be a little better, if not, a lot better than the average product.

I am happy to hear that you find it an amazing product. I have personally previously owned the Extreme 11 board and i found that to be fantastic, probably the most rock solid board i have ever used, unfortunately i killed it during an LN2 experiment gone wrong. If the BIOS options are more numerous than the Extreme version, then i guess i should just get over myself and take a hard look at the next viable option for me when Skylake Extreme processors come our way.

I guess even i can be swayed by marketing. Usually in a negative way, but like i said, i am old, i am cynical!

No offense taken, LOL! I was just making the point I used to think it was a gimmick, but found by trying it that they're actually great boards! Love the color scheme too!
