GIGABYTE unveiled the GeForce GTX 970 Twin-Turbo graphics card (model: GV-N970TTOC-4GD), a custom design GTX 970 card equipped with a lateral blower-type cooling solution, which pushes hot air out of the case, through its I/O shield air-vents. There's just one blower, but what makes it "twin-turbo," according to the company, is that it has intakes on both sides of the card, thanks to the company opting for the short GTX 970 PCB.

The card offers factory-overclocked speeds of 1101 MHz core, 1241 MHz GPU Boost, and an untouched 7012 MHz (GDDR5-effective) memory. The card is also sold in a non-OC SKU, which sticks to NVIDIA reference clocks of 1076 MHz core, and 1216 MHz GPU Boost. The card draws power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. Display outputs include three DisplayPort 1.2, and one each of HDMI 2.0 and dual-link DVI. The non-OC SKU is expected to be priced at US $300, with the OC SKU about $10 more.

LOL, so sad what a cooler, would of been much better if they used a typical 3rd party cooler. This thing could be priced $50 less than others and still would not buy it.

Anyways color WTF, and i fon't remember seeing a motherboard by Giga that would even match this ugly blue.

I can see uses for this kind of card in a case with air flow restrictions or just small cases. It pulls air from both sides of the fan so it shouldn't be as loud as a normal blower.
That blue is awesome. I wish my build was in that blue.

Oh snap, sweet design. And they thought about proper SLI configuration as well. If bottom card suffocates a lot, it can still draw air from the top. I am def. planning to get a GB card in my next build.

If only someone would make one with the fan design that Arctic cooling used on their original coolers instead of these damn noisy cage blower fans I would be sold.
It wouldn't be "Twin Turbo" but it would be quiet and functional for low airflow situations and people like me that like cards that dump heat out the back.

You don't understand the design of this card (cooler). It has dual intake with fan extended outside PCB, meaning it will suffer significantly less than single intake fan. These work significantly better in SLI configurations or in tiny cases where main intake is blocked.

Same as ASUS GTX 970 Turbo. Check the ASUS GTX 970 Turbo review by OC3D on Youtube. He explains it pretty well how it works.

Short PCB means a monolithic aluminum heatsink(no heat pipes). Regardless of the amount of air that flows over this cooler, it will still have a higher core temp vs. a better heat conductor(Copper Heatsink & Heatpipes).

I had a HIS 6870 IceQ and love the cooler. Noisy but efficient.

Congratulations to Gigabyte for putting a shitty cooler, cheap and basically the stock cooler, but with different color and calling it an innovation and an improvement.

I understand it, i just don't see them as a better solution in a correctly cooled case, like please 2/3 of the bracket is pretty much blocked and that will course turbulence.

Like I said, this is for tight SLI configurations and microATX/miniATX configurations. No one preventing you from buying it for a Full ATX tower case with a single card though...

Well this one has heat pipes, its how they claim to do 29% better than reference. this isnt a me too effort from gigabyte as people are claiming, its a "we want to one up asus" because their implimentation was easy to beat (the asus one doesnt have heat pipes).
