Razer, a world leader in connected devices and software for gamers, today announced the launch of the Razer Wildcat for Xbox One, a pro-gamer-validated, tournament-grade, console controller with four multi-function buttons added to the conventional array, which allows gamers to re-bind any button on the controller for easy access. Twenty-five percent lighter than other tournament grade controllers, the Razer Wildcat for Xbox One features an ergonomic shape to increase actuation speed and a quick control panel that allows users to create dedicated button layout profiles for different games on the fly.

"The Razer Wildcat for Xbox One is the third generation Razer Xbox controller and the result of years working with eSports athletes on many prototypes," says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. "The lightest tournament-grade controller in its class with additional remappable buttons gives gamers an incredible edge." I think that in eSports these gamepads are banned, because they give you advantage, or am I wrong? Those rapid fire and memory combos.. I red that the Xbox Elite is not suited for eSports, so why they advertise this gamepad as eSports ready one?

Pass on that D-Pad. I dont want a PS4 styled D-pad.

Because they want the regular Joe Schmoe to think thats what all the pro's use so then they buy it. Except the pro's know better and they just use a regular controller because they're better than us anyway without needing something "special".

There aren't any rapid fire, turbo, or macros supported by this or any of Razer's controllers. The biggest feature they have is the ability to map on-controller buttons to the additional "M" buttons and triggers. This is most commonly used to map ABXY to the four bumpers/triggers. This allows you to activate those buttons with your fingers and leave your right thumb on the right analog stick. This is the same way the Microsoft Elite controller works with its four paddles. These sorts of controllers are generally allowed in most tournaments because they only remap existing buttons and don't add any additional inputs or features that would be illegal (drop-shots, rapid fire, etc.).

I own both the Onza and Sabertooth controllers that I've used on my 360 in the past and use on my desktop currently. I've never had an issue with either and I love the re-mapped buttons and the "hyper-response" ABXY buttons. After you get used to using the bumpers/paddles for FPS games it's so much better than using ABXY and taking your thumb off the thumbstick. If you do want to use ABXY then the "hyper-response" buttons feel much more tactile and responsive than the ones on Microsoft's 360 pad.

For $150 though I really hope nobody buys this thing when Microsoft's Elite controller will be available at the same price.

Not as if these expensive controllers help a bad player to play better lol, not as if they make them better like when people used to buy pro stuff because it had a steel shaft and such.

Well i have a XBox 360 controller too but it was not 100$ not even close to it.

Some thing that i am surprised that has not been done with a mouse.

Its really an old idea tbh.... I remember I used to have this for my Gamecube back in the day....

But if my hand swetting really becomes an issue I just set up an external PC fan right in front of my mouse pad for a quick solution ;)

there is a mouse with a fan in it ... Thermaltake iirc ...
in fact they did 2 attempt.

1st the Black Element Cyclone

2nd the Ventus X (no fan for that one but a vented "breathing" top)

and indeed a X360 is cheap around 50chf for me with the receiver and the Shield controller is also not too expensive for the quality it has, 70chf

Most razer 360 pads are garbage based on reviews.

I really wanted the onza /sabertooth once upon a time everyone says they break so easy.

The green shade on this makes me think its a gamestop knockoff.

Still rocking an official wired 360 pad almost 10 years. modded everything on it even bullet buttons o_O
