If it could make a dual-GK110 graphics card, the forgettable $2,999 GTX TITAN-Z, it's only conceivable that NVIDIA could launch one based on its newer and slightly more energy-efficient GM200 chips. According to a WCCFTech report, the company is doing just that. The dual-GPU GM200 graphics card could bear the company's coveted "GTX TITAN" branding, and could be a doubling of the GTX TITAN X, with twice as many CUDA cores (6,144 in all), TMUs (384 in all), ROPs (192 in all), and memory (24 GB in all), spread across two GPU systems, in an SLI-on-a-stick solution. It remains to be seen if NVIDIA gets the pricing wrong the second time.

I would hope it would be a dual 980ti variant instead of the Titan X merely for the price difference. But it is probably a dual Titan X so prepare for a $2500 price point...

This has got no chance of ending well as the Maxwell GM200 chips are very energy efficient but that does not mean they use less watts than the old Kepler GK110 chips. This in turn will lead to a very hot badly cooled card unless water is used or the clocks lowered making the card pointless and overpriced.

Maxwell also does not do well on the compute front, something that probably got the old Titan Z most of it's sales.

Pricing can never be "right" on a dual titan card.
Never was, never will be.
Pricing was never right on a single Titan card, let alone dual.

Doesn't matter what price it is, fanboys will buy it. Just like they buy Fury Xs. So for nVIDIA, the price is right.

Definitely it will be on the same base plate as the TITAN-Z with two processors GM200 and PLX chip will be here...It not difficult to know. If only price will not be pregnant again . I would gladly afford 2 pieces but only if the price will be reasonably € 700 per piece.(I can dream ). And as always very late to offer the best option.

I'm confused by so many people claiming Maxwell is a hot GPU. It runs about the same temps as he first line of Kepler cards (~70-75c for AIB cards, ~80-85 for Reference Design). On top of that, most 980's only idle warmer because the new trend in GPU's is having fans that turn off when the card is idle, which is why most 980's idle at ~45-50c compared to a 680 which idled at ~30-35c.

I'm also confused, my 980ti is sitting @ 33c.

The 690 I upgraded from ran similarly (both on water). If you are going to drop this kinda cash on a flagship card its only appropriate to give it cooling of the same caliber.

Actually because it's such a lemon I'd love to have it in my collection of dual GPU NVIDIA cards. Unfortunately, I can't ever see it being priced reasonably, even a used one in several years time. <sigh>

I kept my lemony HD 2900 XT for just this reason. And because the cooler looks beautiful, lol.
