ASUS Republic of Gamers Announces G752

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced G752, a powerful gaming laptop powered by a 6th-generation Intel Core i7 ('Skylake') processor and up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M discrete graphics. ROG G752 has an aggressive design and sports the new ROG Armor Titanium and Plasma Copper color scheme. It features the ROG-exclusive mobile 3D Vapor Chamber thermal system for more efficient cooling and increased stability, along with a backlit anti-ghosting gaming keyboard with 30-key rollover for precise input. ROG G752 can be upgraded to up to 64GB DDR4 RAM for faster, more energy-efficient performance.

ROG G752 has Windows 10 pre-installed and is powered by the latest 6th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, paired with discrete NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M graphics for superior gaming performance and sharp, detailed visuals. ROG G752 features support for the latest DDR4 memory, which is 30% more efficient and 20% faster than the previous-generation DDR3. The four DDR4 slots allow RAM to be upgraded to a maximum of 64GB.



The future of ROG design
ROG G752 has hexagonal design elements and angled edges that mirror that of past ROG gaming laptops, while at the same time representing the latest evolution of ROG design. Its new Armor Titanium and Plasma Copper color scheme has been specially chosen to enhance its modern, angular lines.

Keeping things cool
Temperature uniformity vapor chambers are commonly found alongside high-performance, high-voltage graphics cards to increase cooling efficiency. The ROG-exclusive mobile 3D Vapor Chamber, together with the copper heat pipe, create an effective and efficient cooling system that helps improve GPU performance for smooth and stable gaming. ROG G752 is the world's first laptop to integrate a vapor chamber into its cooling system.

ROG G752 has a unique thermal design that directs dust into a dust-release tunnel to keep it away from internal components. This prolongs component lifespan and enhances overall stability of the laptop. In addition, dedicated cooling modules for the CPU and GPU help cool each component. Hot exhaust is managed efficiently and expelled through the rear vents to direct heat away from the user for more-comfortable gaming sessions.

A keyboard built for gaming
ROG G752 has an ergonomically-designed keyboard with a key-travel distance of 2.5mm for solid, responsive keystrokes. The anti-ghosting with 30-key rollover feature ensures all inputs are instantaneously and correctly interpreted even if numerous keys are hit simultaneously. There are is a dedicated Record key and several ROG macro keys to program complex multi-key commands.

That was my first thought, too. Perhaps Asus is testing the waters, so to speak, and if the demand is there they might offer the 980. Or perhaps a place like XoticPC can custom build one to include a 980.

Seems pointless to me to buy these high end gaming laptops especially with a watercooled GTX 980 addon like pictured above. Might as well just build a damn desktop.

I agree with that, that watercooled laptop will be very expensive, for that money you can build a nice high end rig.

for home use, pointless but for people on the go, its pretty handy compared to desktop

USB powered monitor and a mini ITX rig could do the same thing with a substantially more powerful CPU.

The point is having a high-powered laptop that can go anywhere, and when at home, it's capable of gaming at high res and details as well. Obviously having the GTX980 on al lteh time would negatively impact battery life; this GX700 avoids that.

Most of those high end laptops shut off the GPU and force usage of the IGPU on battery. I sell these, you would be surprised what all is locked out when on battery.

Hmm.. So it has Optimus, thats new then for Asus ROG laptops, since my G750JX does not have Optimus and I can't use or activate the IGPU.

I will have to check the new ones in at work. The 15.6" with the 970 shuts the GPU off. It's stupid even the HP Omen keeps its 960 on.

I have a nice high end 17 5960X rig, but I also have a gaming laptop with an 17 4700MQ and a GTX 770M that suits very nicely, but I a laptop with a GTX 980. We live on the beach in Florida and I spend as much time on the balcony as inside. A laptop allows my only way to watch baseball games on MLB.com. Plus we travel a lot it and my 10 lb. lappy goes everywhere.

i wouldnt trade my gaming laptop to a mini ITX even if it is high end if we talk about handiness. Performance yes, i would trade. What I mean being handy is people like me who bring their gaming laptop to around the world because of their job in which a 3-5 kilos laptop is better than bringing your own mini ITX and monitor. I would imagine it would be more than 5 kilo atleast. Imagine bringing that to airport and travel to different country. If travelling by car, train or whatever, sure, i would take a mini ITX or micro ATX + a nice 24inches monitor of my choice.

There are gaming laptop which is not a very heavy one. Like my MSI GS70 6QE. Only less than 3.5 kilos all in all including power supply and mouse
