EVGA Announces the 700B Power Supply

EVGA announced the 700B, an entry-level 700W power supply for gaming PC builds on a shoestring budget. This unit covers the bare essentials, with 700W continuous power, fixed cabling, 80 Plus Bronze efficiency, and enough connectors for a build with either two mid-range graphics cards, or one high-end card. Under the hood, the unit features a single +12V rail design, with a single 56A rail, and most common electric protection features, against over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit protection. Connectors include two 6+2 pin PCIe, a 4+4 pin EPS, 24-pin ATX, nine SATA, three Molex, and one Berg. Backed by a 3-year warranty, the 700B is priced at US $49.99.

I have used two EVGA power supplies in builds this year and have had no issues with them at all. They seem to be built well and are nice looking as well and the price can't be beat.

I find the B series even better than the EVGA P2! I used the 500b on another machine and it is reliable running quietly. Also the size of the B series is compact. Add to it great airflow with grills rather than stamped metal.

Excellent!
Last week I bought a refurbished EVGA 500W PSU (W1-0500-KR) for only $29.99 ($39.99 regular price @ Newegg).
430W model even includes a $15 mail-in rebate, which probably makes it the cheapest 80+ certified entry-level PSU.

I am not sure why it is called an "entry level" power supply (maybe due to single 12V rail design), but this is one heck of a product!
Definitely worth every penny.

They have some even lower end units (the thing you bought is one of them), but this is pretty basic.

I wonder if they changed OEM's for the 700W version as the lower end 500W class are pretty rubbish according to most reviews.

This 700b unit is the same OEM as the 500 and 600b units - HEC. Not the cream of the crop, but certainly a decent entry level PSU.
I always find it worrying when a 700W+ unit only comes with two 6/8pins.

Then the 500B/600B should drop in price, since they're selling for $50 on Newegg right now. I wonder how much lower they can drop, but either way lower prices are good for us.

I picked up one myself. They also have nice cables (or mine does); they are nicer than Corsair's cables.
