Logitech today announced the introduction of the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum Gaming Mouse. By adding RGB customizable lighting the Logitech G502 Proteus Core, the world's best selling gaming mouse just got even better. The Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum still retains the world's best DPI sensor, advanced surface and weight tuning, but now gives you even more features to elevate your game and style.

"The G502 Proteus Spectrum has an amazing sensor, and now it's got customizable lighting as well, said Ujesh Desai, vice president and general manager of gaming at Logitech. "You can also sync it with your other RGB-enabled Logitech G gaming gear to create some really cool effects."

RGB Customizable Lighting
Match your style and environment by adjusting up to 16.8 million colors and brightness, using Logitech Gaming Software (LGS). Bring your mouse to life with breathing light patterns, or set your lighting to continuously cycle through the color spectrum. The lighting can also be synchronized with Logitech G's other RGB products.

Accurate and Responsive Optical Sensor
The Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum features Logitech's most powerful and accurate optical sensor, the PMW3366, for maximum performance and tracking accuracy and the exclusive Logitech G Delta Zero optical sensor technology that increases reliable targeting. The Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum also features a huge DPI range of 200 to 12,000 with zero sensor acceleration, zero smoothing or filtering and zero pixel rounding.

Tunable Balance, Buttons, Surface and Weight

Personal tweaks make all the difference. For a mouse that feels just right for you, adjust the weight and center of balance through the placement of up to five 3.6g weights in the mouse. You can also easily reassign any command or macro to one of the 11 programmable buttons, using LGS.

And for optimal performance, calibrate the sensor against a gaming surface's physical and reflective characteristics. Surface tuning optimizes the sensor dynamic range to match the properties of the mouse surface, which results in maximum high-speed performance and lower lift-off distance.

Comfortable Shape
The textured rubber grips and a convenient button layout ensure great feel and performance from your first encounter with the mouse. Additionally, the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum includes individual left and right buttons that provide a rigid and stable platform, resulting in precise, durable and satisfying clicks. Mechanical micro-switches under each button further enhance feel, speed and accuracy. And, a dual-mode hyper-fast scroll wheel offers enhanced click-to-click precision and lightning-fast scrolling for the Web.

Pricing and Availability
The Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum builds on the success of the G502 Proteus Core - the best-selling gaming mouse based on worldwide revenue. The G502 Proteus Spectrum and is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe beginning January 2016, for a suggested retail price of $79.99 and €89.

Do not blow me. This mouse is very tiring for the hand wheel and buttons constantly when playing starts and diversifies weapons without this myself wanted. More for beauty button layout, not functionality .The wheel is too tempered(loss) at lock function and shift arms in the rapid play. 12000 DPI not helpful. Grip is too narrow and too low for normal hand. It would be good to write it for children with small hands. Lipstick does not justify the price. Electronics and the support is good, and that's all there is commendable but what when the construction is completely screwed up. Mine is located in the corner and i m not using it.:shadedshu:

Why Logitech... why did you ditch the ergonomic design of the MX518, G5 and G500(s)...?

How about instead of putting flashing bling in your BS you fix your damn shitty switches?? My 502 isn't even a year old yet and is already starting the double click nonsense. My G700 lasted 3 years before starting that.

I think Logicrap has been purchasing the switched rejected in Omron Q/C department. Now their keyboards also use Omron switches, I am sure in few days we will start reading about double clicking keyboards as well.

Sure, and so did my G700 which they refused to replace because I lost the receipt proving it was still within 3 years. I shouldn't have to get mice replaced like that anyways for an issue that has plagued Logitech for years now.

Ditto, I love my Proteus Core. And works perfectly.

Maybe us Brits look after our mice?

nah mine get abused xD

why i think all my razors died tbh yet this 502 is still going strong. thanks @RCoon :)

as a long time razor fanboi i have to say the old logi mice make my hand hurt after an hour or 2. while the 502 still feels narrow in my hand the button layout is ideal for the size of my hand and it has never left me aching. i have had to adjust my grip but i think that is the trick to making all the buttons work right. idk.

Another crap from Logicrap.

Dude, just go away. We know you have a hard-on against Logitech, and frankly, it's tiresome. I've never seen anyone against a manufacturer so blindly hateful as you.

If there was an un-thanks button, I'd use it.

So I just got one of these today and its going right back the feet are fucking awful and scratch and drag on any surface.
Secondly this mouse was made for people with half a hand because its way way too narrow.

When a brand new mouse is worse than my however many years old Logitech G7/Death Adder v1/Naga Hex we have a problem.
Shame because I really liked the scroll wheel and tracking performance.

razer has the problem with constant internet connection needed for thier software and shit and that's crap. also if you have mvps hosts file it has problems. Also doesn't like a lot of corp firewalls either. and a buddy at a hotel said the software didn't work over the hotel's connection. I know you can back it up to the cloud but that should be AN OPTION not A REQUIREMENT!!

I was looking more closely at that, and it looks alot narrower than my G500, G400s/MX-518. I need a big wide, beefy mouse.

I owned a G500 Rev2 and 1, without the lip it's almost the same size actually. Just sharper edges.

I owned a G500 Rev2 and 1, without the lip it's almost the same size actually. Just sharper edges.

Well that's good to know. The photo makes it look narrower, which I can't abide by.

That saying I'm assuming this is the exact same mouse I have now except with stupid RGB.

Dude, just go away. We know you have a hard-on against Logitech, and frankly, it's tiresome. I've never seen anyone against a manufacturer so blindly hateful as you.

If there was an un-thanks button, I'd use it.

I personally wouldn't mind purchasing products from a manufacturer who A: Has bad QC but very decent after sales service network B: Absolute best QC with terrible after sales service network. Logitech combines the worst of the two conditions.
My hatred for Logitech isn't blind but well justified, I have lost a hell lot of money, time and energy getting service for many of their products that I had purchased for myself or sold with PC builds for clients.

oohhhh i would dig that option!

i do it .... with Razer, tho my rant about them might be more justified and less blind

How bad was your Razer experience? I am considering purchasing Razer devices for myself, and I know the distributor of Razer to the point that I can pressurise the staff into good service.

I was looking more closely at that, and it looks alot narrower than my G500, G400s/MX-518. I need a big wide, beefy mouse.

The DPI buttons are a real issue on the G502 if you have large hands or Palm grip I found myself almost clicking them trying to use the finger wide right mouse button.
From my research I've found that either a Zowie or the Steelseries Rival 300 seem to be the go to mouse for big hands/palm grip so I'm going to give the Rival a shot since im not a fan of the Zowie's Deathadder like shape.

I owned a G500 Rev2 and 1, without the lip it's almost the same size actually. Just sharper edges.
I would disagree its noticeably shallower and narrower than my G7 which is the same as the mx500 mx518 etc.

How bad was your Razer experience?
I have yet to find a Razer mouse that has a functional middle click, my Naga hex is incompatible with speakers that produce any vibration.
