AMD today announced it is collaborating with Tencent Games to bring new features, performance and functionality to Monster Hunter Online (MHO) in January, a leading massive multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) for the China market.

Beyond the features, performance and functionality improvements, AMD and Tencent also announced a marketing collaboration around MHO in China, including the first cross media "pan-entertainment" contest co-sponsored by Tencent, AMD and Sapphire, including promotions with i-Cafés and university campuses around the country. AMD will also offer customized PCs and AMD Radeon graphics cards for MHO throughout Mainland China.

These improvements will significantly enhance the gaming experience for gamers and i-café players, including:
  • AMD TressFX for natural hair and fur: Building on the world's first real-time hair physics system, TressFX enables hair, fur and grass to look real and react to movement and weather in the game environment. With the planned roll-out of TressFX in MHO by the end of January 2016, monsters will come to life with natural-looking fur making them seem more realistic while delivering a more immersive gaming experience.
  • AMD Eyefinity technology for multi-display gaming: AMD Radeon graphics offers the ability to play across five screens for a 180-degree gaming experience. With a wide range of combinations and configurations involving up to six displays, gamers can create their dream display setup that will allow them to survey the landscape to find the best target, or ratchet up the intensity in action-packed battles.
  • Improved performance through Radeon Software updates: Gamers will benefit from increased performance and improved stability through AMD Radeon Software updates, helping ensure gamers always have the best experience in MHO. The recent release of Radeon Software Crimson Edition brings supercharged performance and energy efficiency to gamers, enabling up to 20 percent more game performance, and up to 1.8 times more GPU energy-efficiency than the previous version.
  • Forward+ rendering optimization for more realistic lighting: MHO gamers will enjoy more realistic lighting without performance degradation using rendering optimizations that render many light sources and then cull and store only those visible to the user, delivering exceptional-looking scenes with minimal impact on frame rates.

Well, not just China, the whole Asian market.
Seems to be poplar in Japan too...

So that's pretty good news, not for us though as we don't like such grinding games...

There are quests in WoW ;)

In some asian MMOs there are no quests...
I think I read somewhere that WOW becomes dull after a time, especially if no new expansion is released or maximum level is raised, it is not like FPS games where the continued use is not based on new content. If people play a game with no quests then it must be good.

Well there are quests it really is just killing monsters and gathering materials your stats are based on your equipment. You just have quests that are timed the great thing about the game is that every monster can be killed solo you don't need a team.

That is endgame. Which depends on your enjoyment. Do you like to raid, pvp, or rp/social? The rp/social crowd tends to last longest before getting bored. PVPers would be next. Raiders are the crowd which get bored the fastest because their enjoyment is linked purely to the content provided. When it is beaten, they have nothing to do.

WoW isn't super slow with content but people still get bored. Other MMOs either have basic endgame or they are just lacking it completely.

SWTOR used to be the closest challenger to WoW in terms of endgame raiding environments. Frankly I came from WoW and liked it more in SWTOR. However, Bioware has no concept or clue how endgame should work. So the best endgame they had was back at launch. Since Hutt Cartel they've been very stingy. Course EA won't invest anymore into them and for good reason. Episode 7 brought back some investment which is why we have Fallen Empire. But right now SWTOR is in the midst of the worst collapse it has ever had. Fallen got raves sure but it had no endgame. Bioware rehashed all the old content and rode the casual gamer who was thrilled with Fallen's story. Both the raider and pvper crowds are vanishing and now I hear even the social crowd is getting fed up. Bioware is basically telling everyone, wait till August 2016 to get the story finished and trying to find all sorts of ways to make people sub. But there is no promise of new endgame content at all during that time.

Course I wouldn't count on any to be good. Bioware has been very sloppy with their boss design and overall Ops content since Hutt Cartel too. From fights that would randomly 1 shot players to ones that would be so monotonous you could do them blindfolded. In fact if you've played Fallen's story, all the fights in Fallen are literally the same. There might be a couple variations but generally its the same enemies or packs or boss abilities over and over.

Well, was the usual Hype with every new MMO as SWTOR was released.
I played it since the beginning, but it was a pagued by Bugs...
For some they needed a very very Long time to fix them...
Especially the last Boss in the first RAID (they call it Operation) was just pretty damn Buggy, sadly...

And also they were unable to deliver new Content in time...
So too Little too late...

And what's worse: They don't know shit about designing a hard boss that's still fun to Play...
And they love it if the boss kicks and/or stuns the tank - that's ass man...
Stun/kick everyone else, but NEVER the tank...

SWTOR suffered from bad class balancing -> some chars were imbalanced in PVP but garbage in PVE, the Bugs, especially those boss Bugs...

The difficulty of the game is another Point. FOr most part it's way too easy. For other parts it's just way too hard or just annoying. A boss for a 4man 'Flashpoint' that does nothing but has half a Million HP (about the same as an operation boss) is just bad. Also the difficulty of those 4 man Things is way too high...
The operations are OK for most part, but Bioware is just way too inconsistent.

Either it's too easy or it's just way too hard for most of the Players...
And that's the Problem: Most of the 'hardcore raiders' just quit some time ago...

It's that inconsistency that pisses People off. Also that there are some classes that are way over the top - and got nerfed to a Point where they are just a Piece of garbage (=the worst of all of the classes)...

And also there is this legacy Thing. It's a great idea that sadly wasn't developed any further since I think 1.3 or so. It could have been something that could have made SWTOR great - but it got canned. And never developed any further since then...

Also there isn't much for you to do. Most Things you Need, you can get in a week...

How Long do you think do you Need from Level 60 to Level 65??
No, you're wrong, totally...
Last time I played, it was about 45min -> one Operation and you're done.
Great...

TL;DR:
The Problems SWTOR has is:
Bugs
Shitty boss design (either Buggy or just annoying)
inconsistent difficulty (way too easy in some parts, way too hard in others)
leveling is way too fast, especially in the higher regions...
If you want and have a great guild, you can have the best gear in a week...
So the BOSS IDs are just kinda bullshit because you can just logoff and Switch to the next char (well, that's sometimes kinda fun in SWTOR)...

And Bioware doesn't know for whom they did the game...
Sadly they try to get more casual Players...
And I think that's a bad idea...
You have to get the hardcore (PVE/PVP) Players, those are the ones that stay. Those are the ones that advertise the game in Forums and so on...

Either way:
Final Fantasy 14 is a pretty great game, I loved it...
You Need about a week (normally played) to get from 50 to 60 and there's just so much to do...

Monster Hunter is such an amazing game. Its the most played game on both my WiiU and 3DS. a great 4 player experience that games like Dark Souls have ripped off big time.

For those who have never heard of it. Monster Hunter is so popular in Japan that it was what kept th PSP alive in the DS generation. the 3 game exclusive contract Nintendo bought from Capcom for the series is what has doomed the VITA.

Its a big deal in Japan, it has its own theme park attraction at Universal Studio's Osaka. But I never expected to see it mentioned on this website.
