'Lineup' shocking.

Really surprised there are enough people for EVGA to make three variation of this card..

Dem PCI-E connectors tho... I guess they thought about the idea that the 710 doesn't need a full x16 connector anyway.

Some people are responsible for dozens to hundreds of user stations. Their purchases are significant.

OK, ill bite. What user stations need these?

I mean, we do the same thing at work, but we buy 8400gs cards, since their maybe $10-15, and do the job just as well as a 710 would. And anyone doing anything remotely demanding would need something much more powerful. For everyday tasks, iGPUs are more than sufficient.

What workstations would actually need these things?

I need them when the last guy purchased a bunch of Optiplexes in the single D-SUB configuration. Hardware is only 3 years old and viable so a simple upgrade to the low-end card at the time will allow me a combination of DVI/HDMI/DP for that dual-monitor upgrade for the sales department. That low-end card is currently the 710. Is it a hard rule? No, of course not. Circumstances change, stocks of certain models dwindle, etc. But when thinking 5 years down the road I feel better with the longevity of the 710 over the 610 or 8400GS so its now my general rule. Especially when the price differences are fairly insignificant.
