AMD rolled out the latest version of its Radeon Software Crimson Edition drivers. Version 16.1.1 Beta adds optimizations for "Rise of the Tomb Raider." This includes performance/quality optimizations for the game. In addition to this, the company added a long overdue CrossFireX profile for "Fallout 4." A number of GPU- and game-specific bugs were fixed. Grab the drivers from the links below.

just curious, but can't anyone use crossfire or SLI with that alternating frames configuration? ya know GPU1 does even frames, GPU2 does odd. I just wouldn't think that would require much since both gpu's know how to render the game by themselves, so surely just doing odd or even number frames wouldn't be that hard to configure/code? Unless there's alot more to it than how simple i made it sound.

You can force it and it may or may not work correctly.

Just installed this driver. I now cannot play Tomb Raider on any settings. It has literally broken the entire game, my PC crashes, and I get some kind of memory error. It's 50/50 at the moment as to whether the game crashes, or my entire PC locks up.

I stand by my original statement - AMD still haven't brought a working crossfire profile for Rise of the Tomb Raider

Fallout 4 is unplayable in CFX! Missing textures everywhere!! i.e. The ground is gone, and piper now has a fryers bowl cut and there are no hands. I ran into a couple of super mutants and all they were was a floating head and a breastplate......then there are the flickering of certain textures, when they work. Thanks Gameworks! (not going to blame AMD on this crap anymore)

On my rendering rig, I don't play PC Games, but on my other one, I'd always force AFR on any and all games with my old R9-290x setup, and I've had three of them in CrossfireX. I've personally found that AFR pushes a few more frames better than a profile, and if there's issues in AFR, guess what, there's issues on the profile end too. Usually, AFR is like the go to setting if you don't have a profile for a new game. If it works, it works, if it doesn't, you'll see the scaling issues and texture blinking blemishes when the frames are being rendered. Hell, I've AFR on World of Tanks, a game that doesn't support CrossfireX, and I don't get issues with it... There are some blemishes.

Also, i'd take off any AA in the game, and enable MLAA. The post processing is better, imo.

@ Rcoon,

Sounds like you have a driver issue. Re-install it properly, or wait for AMD/Tomb Raider Devs to patch a fix.

In other news, I think I've heard the up-coming Assassin's Creed Game is going to AMD now. Didn't the last Assassin's Creed suck because it wasn't rendering things properly, and it was an NVidia Supported Game? Meh!

Ran DDU and did a number of other rituals. In the end the only thing that didn't cause my PC to assplode was reinstalling the previous line of drivers.

Sounds like an AMD issue to me.

Well crap. I was excited to see a CFX profile for Fallout 4 and one for Rise of the Tomb Raider, but after reading @RCoon 's and @turbo098 's posts, I think I'll hold off for now.

I had some minor visual glitches in Fo4, but they seemed to be location specific. In general it runs great.

well audio is still broken if i change HDMI channels on my receiver (apps lose audio completely), sadly i thought the sleep issue might fix that.

I just realized how long its been since I had my receiver hooked up.

I was going to say that I'be not experienced any audio switching issues with my receiver but then realized that I still had 5850s the last time I was using it. Maaaaaybe not so relevant to a brand new driver.
