80GB Version of PlayStation 3 on the Way

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc has announced that it is working on a new Korean version of PlayStation 3 with an 80GB 2.5" SATA hard drive. The new console will be identical to the European model, aside from the 80 GB hard drive and that it will be introduced only in South Korea, with no plans to ship in Europe for now. The 80GB version will launch there on June 16 priced at KRW 518,000 (EUR 412). Currently, the only version of the PS3 game console contains a 60GB hard drive. Read the full story here.

btw, S. Koren currency is KRW, not KWR...

and the exchange rate is around $550, so a $50 price drop of 20gb more?

All Sony has to do to win the Console war is have private dedicated servers for multiplayer games just like every PC FPS has. If they did this, PS3 would dominate the FPS world - which 360 has the console-crown for right now.

id like to see sony supporting people going out and buying a 2.5" hdd and installing it themself. of course that would be taken away profits from larger and more expensive hard drives wouldn't it :mad:

I like the Xbox 360's controller much better for FPS, or any game, compared to the PS3. It just fits perfectly in your hand. IMO, the PS3's Analog Sticks are too close to each other, and the 360's is perfect.

I agree. 360 Controller is better than the dualshock.
