I may be.

AMD makes power efficient and powerful card: Nvidiot logic; Wahhh, competition means my already obsolete card will be worth less, we don't want any competition.
AMD makes a card with new display logic to meet the complaints about standards that won't be relevant for 2-4 years: Wahhhh, it doesn't have 1985 VGA technology without an adapter.
AMD makes a card: WAHHHH, their backplate is 1.5723mm thick, I wanted 1.5724 minimum wahhhh.

TPU news post about AMD: WAHHHH TPU is heavily in favor of AMD.
TPU news post about Nvidia: WAHHH TPU is heavily in favor of Nvidia.

TPU news post about the sun rising: WAHHHH I hate time and the endless cycle of days causing age and time always moving forward, TPU is all about AGEISM!!!!!

Put on your big girl panties and stop the bitching.

Also, good to see a power efficient card with enough junk to push pixels, and some standards that will probably be obsolete by the time TV and monitor manufacturers come up with reasonably priced hardware with the same features.

Let me google a picture that has been around for a long ass time for you.

https://www.google.com/search?q=bad...2mMKHVLLCWsQ_AUIBigB#tbm=isch&q=bad_dudes-jpg

Oh yeah, first page.

Also, found the SJW.

Also also, way to ignore my actual post and not the friendly jab. I for one appreciate the number of displays made with HDMI 2.0 and DP that support the new features fully, instead of half assed attempts.

Yeah and Im sure I can find a picture of WW2 where someone is doing the Hitler Salute, does not mean it has any place or class to post it here now does it?
How does a google search/find of anything justify the usage of it? you could post anything then and claim its ok because you found it on google....Im sure even you see how that makes no sense whatsoever.

As Steevo said, knickers need not be twisted.

As I said, this thread has not been saved.....

Seriously, doesn't anybody remember Capzasin?

I dunno, the whole naming scheme from AMD lately reminds me of death..... Bulldozer wrecking everything, pile driver shoving it all into the ground. Now, its Capzasin, to soothe my arthritic joints after all this work of burying AMD.

Sorry AMD....

And no D-sub? Grandma's gonna have to get a new monitor soon, lol......

Oh shit! Steevo is here guys, abandon ship! The only guy on the internet that I suspect may be older than me.... :lovetpu:

Who would use VGA with gaming PC this day? It was nothing but a step to forward when they dropped the support for VGA in Hawaii.

Or should this have AGP and PCI versions as well?

Actually a lot of people run 2nd or 3rd monitors via VGA, hence it being so lame when Hawaii dropped support from the DVI plug (not sure why you consider reducing functionality simply for the sake of reducing functionality to be a good thing :S).

On the plus side DP>VGA adaptors are quite cheap now.

S3, are you serious?! They can't even do half decent 3D... :p

That's what the voodoo cards are for.

The S3 card renders the basic scene, the VGA output from it is connected to the VGA input on the first Voodoo 3D accelerator which then overlays the 3D accelerated effects, the output from the first Voodoo is then connected to the monitor for display and the second Voodoo connects to the first via a FDD cable.

Kids today with their connectorless crossfire... :p

What the hell does the MiG-15 Fagot have to do with this thread? the USSR has no interest in hijacking GPU discussions.

Meh, with the output choices shown that would be a step back in my book. I preferred the only one row with no DVI connector because it allowed for single slot modifications to be easier and just looked cleaner in my book. With adaptors for DP to DVI I would just prefer it to be one row of DP 1.3 and an HDMI.

Ditto.

Taking into consideration that this is a prototype board I assume the DVI connector was added for convenience. I bet the retail cards will just ship with a passive adapter

Showing my age here but they're called "ribbon cables." They transmit data in parrallel.

Technically, you'd make a twist in a floppy cable and you had your own real SLI cable for the 3dfx cards. There was nothing special about those cabled tho. We used them call them the floppy cable. Yes they are ribbon's.

That's what the voodoo cards are for.

Was'nt the voodoo 1 / 2 only able to produce 3D and not 2D? Hence why you needed a single 2D card in order to run desktop and things.

FDD ribbon cables actually do have a twist between the A and B ports:

In the ATX world, cables rarely had the B port so the twist was gone.

Using 2 1.44MB floppy drives is way back in the pre-historic 1990's or even before. I remember doing a Doom1 copy with Pkzip -arpex doom.zip command, which automaticly made 1.44MB files that would fit on floppy drives. With some smart copying you'd simply hit Copy doom.zip B:.

But, without having a real SLI cable, you where able to twist one or two wires on a FDD cable, and use it as a genuine SLI cable for your 3DFX cards. :)

Floppy disks are retarted lol. They would often fail, they where limited, and they where magnetic storages based floppy's which needed solid enclosing in for example floppy-boxes to keep them protected.
