XFX Radeon Pro Duo Pictured, Retail Price Revealed

European tech-site El Chapuzas Informatico got its hands on the price-tag of an XFX-branded Radeon Pro Duo graphics card, and predictably, it's priced way beyond the USD $1,499 at-launch AMD blared at its unveil. The card is expected to cost 1,695€ (incl. taxes). Retail availability is expected to go live on the 26th of April, 2016. On that day, the card will be launched by AMD's various add-in board (AIB) partners. As the picture reveals, AIB-branded cards won't be much more than a brand sticker placed on the cooler, leaving you to choose between them only on the basis of minor price differences, after-sales support, and erm...box art?

Given the $1500 USD, it'll likely cost $2000 here in Canada, if not more. Oh well. Guess they priced it high so they don't have to make as many cards, and have more people buy pre-existing stock of FuryX.

Why AMD? This recent crop of AAA titles lack any CFX/Dual GPU support and if they do, it's buggy! As a current CFX user, I have little faith that this will change unless both AMD and nVidia hold the hands of developers and show them how to implement CFX/SLI.

That's exactly what they're pitching it at. They said as much. They can charge shiny unicorns for it if they choose.

...... with all the new stuff not so far away.....seems only the ultra enthusiasts will take interest. Still interested in performance #s. Will become of interest to many when it goes on sale for $650 like its predecessor.

On a positive note, if these AIB Partners actually manufacture more than 100 each then there will be lots of cheap Pro Duo's available next year

At the time they giwe us this , it would have been better to offer dual Polaris and it would be good to sell.
A month and 14 nm GPU will be here. Again will be stocks and the price will fall to € 800€. Before 1 May will not be obtained. A year ago would be selling well. It would have been stupid bought at the price now.

Yea, I would definitely rather buy Fury's or Nanos over this. Heck I could almost get three R9 Nanos and waterblocks for about that cost (Least where I am looking).

The whole PR push as developer cards, although defensible, is lame. If UK prices are north of the US price, i.e. £1500, its a smack on the face of loyal AMD fans. Two Fury X are a great (developer dependent) configuration. To ask for another £500 above that for potentially less performance (thermal control for two GPUs on one single rad) is just bullshit.
Nvidia still and without dispute hold the crown for moronic, head up their asses pricing but AMD seem to be trying damn hard to follow in their footsteps with the 'developer' focus bollocks.

Still, seems to be tumbleweeds here from the Nvidia haters. Must all be waiting to buy a Radeon Pro...

Indeed, Dual GPU cards used to be pretty decent value propositions (Heck, I have had plenty from both camps) at least for those wanting to run dual GPU configs (Or higher) but recently they have just spiraled into a big price war where they are considered extreme value when they don't offer almost any benefit over the single GPU counterpart. If it was say $100-$200 over the price of two of the GPU its using the argument could be made that "Well, your paying for one slot taken up only" or something along those lines, but at this ridiculous price it makes almost no sense (similar to the Titan-Z or even R9 295X2 when it launched).

Sad, because I have a friend who waited for this card (Or NVidia equivalent) for an ITX machine using the 5820K, Asrock X99 ITX, in a tiny case but I doubt hes going to want to spend this much...
