The recent news of the retail black box cancellation has raised the question if buyers of the HD 2900 XT, who also received a coupon for a free "Black Box" will receive an upgrade to the orange variant. Valve has now confirmed that only the retail offering has been axed and anyone with a coupon will still receive the same games as found in the Valve Black Box. Sorry guys - no free Episode One and Half-Life 2 for y'all.

black box was cheaper than orange box..I don't think will give us those for free anyway.

well this is good news for 2900XT owners im still not sure why they changed it from black to orange box... was i because of money?, or time?, im still confused about that whole thing,

o and btw steam sucks!

orange box contain hl2 ep1 and something else from previous released ...I don't remember for usre what was..

The orange box was always going to come out originally, they just were going to make a second version (the black box).
The difference is the orange block had the black box contents (Episode 2 and the other games), plus Half-Life2 and Episode 1.

TBH graphics don't matter as much as other things, in fact they come more or less at the bottom of the list of my 'Things To Look For In A Game'. HL2 graphics are still amazing, even though the first time I saw the 8800Ultra face thingy I thought it was a photo...but it does not make a game. I wouldn't care if the graphics looked like EP1 or HL2.
