Not much for this idea, what would be cool if they managed to put a button that you could press on the center part that releases it so you could clean it although that would be tricky.

I have some twister pressure fans, which these seem to be an evolution/variant of and really like them

Its good that they appear to have moved the max speed switch, on mine its on the back of the centre hub which i cant get to with it in situ

Edit: Twister fans generally have removable fan blades

Yeah i had one with a switch on it and the switch was next to were you screw the fan in which turned out be more of a pain.

How ever this what it's doing is what dust gets in and on the fan blows it back at what it got though which it's not going go back though just blow it around the case.

Actually, the CFM are not as important as this, since these are static pressure fans: 4.812mm-H2O.

the fan isn't on their website yet, so I can't give you any dB info.

I don't get what they were thinking with this. All that does is dump the dust all over the case where it will be sucked right back up into the fans. Maybe if it's an intake fan flush up against the outside of the case it will work but I'd rather clean a filter than have a cloud of dust fly off my PC.

It's a good fan with great features, too bad its construction is wonky (pulled PCB and motor out when I tried removing the rotor as they advertise it as removable (regular Twister Pressure). And it makes really annoying clicking noises as it operates. When system is set up for silence like mine, all such noises are incredibly annoying. I had to resort back to Noiseblocker BlackSilentPro as exhaust fan which is so quiet I have to check it visually to see if it's even spinning...

Obviously, a fan can't reduce the amount of dust in your system (only a filter helps with that). But by running it backwards for 10 seconds, it will reduce the buildup of dust on the trailing edge of the blades, and possibly make it easier to clean. If you're worried about "a cloud of dust flying off my PC", you should probably clean it more often...

I like the idea. I like Enermax products. Where I'm seeing a potential flaw in the design is in the speed of the reverse spin action being dependent on the highest RPM set by the user. It would be nice if the user could select whichever fan speed they prefer via the switch, but still have the reverse spin action at the highest RPM the fan is rated for. Though I can't imagine how they would be able to momentarily bypass the switch to accomplish that. It just sounds rather fruitless if you have the fan set to the low or medium speed settings(assuming the same Low Med High peak speed selections as my current Enermax fans). As I can't see those speeds as being sufficient to "free" much, if any, dust from the blades.

EDIT: It appears that what I'm talking about MIGHT be the way they actually do function. The DFR speed MIGHT NOT be dependent on the highest RPM set by the user. Maybe it's just lost in translation. Then again I'm not totally sure what's been lost, if anything. Does 100% Duty Cycle = 2000 RPM? Or does 100% Duty Cycle = 100% x APS? As in 1000 RPM, 1500 RPM, or 2000 RPM? Very confusing.

EDIT 2: Ahhh...now I see! It is FULL rated speed(2000 RPM) for the DFS. Then it DOES revert to APS speed. Damn fine print...

They can't. This has has been used on fans before.
