VR doesn't look cool. To me I don't see what's so great about. I look left view goes left in game, I move mouse left view goes left in game.
Just use some cardboard attach it to your monitor all the way to your head, bam, you've now lost your peripheral vision. You can now feel like you have tunnel vision.
Reaction time will be slower in high paced games and will be more likely to get fatigued.
No I haven't tried VR, but if I get the chance I will, just sounds boring, and one more thing that can go wrong with compatability.

I think track ir is handy, but not VR.
No of course not, it simply means that you afford price/performance a higher priority, for me, I think VR looks interesting but I am not a hardcore gamer so would I spend the dollar to use it, probably not but that does not mean that I don't think it has potential in the future.

I feel personally like VR sucks because I'd want to get up and walk around and then I'd hit the mess of things in my room, probably knock over a toaster or something and burn my house down. All while believing I was fighting aliens.

Nobody bloody knows dafuq that means. It's 2.x performance "at certain tasks".2 x the performances of the Titan X..... in VR.... that nobody cares about....
I have played on VR and wasn't impressed nor would I put money into it. I guess I am old school and just like glazing into a flat panel!

Forgive me but is that really relevant? Most people would say that mobile communications is pretty much an everyday necessity these days, can the same be said for a VR Headset?VR may not get that cheap after all. Flag ship cellphones still cost $400+ off contract.

Same display tech. The only thing that @xkm1948 is wrong about is the price - displays are getting cheaper and since the initial release until now a generic 6-7" 1080p IPS display w/ controller board fell in price from almost $200 to right about $40 (same goes for 9.7" retina displays, thanks to LG).Forgive me but is that really relevant? A poll? When did that happen?

When quality VR sets come down to sub $300...then it'll be time to consider them.
$600+...nah. Tech has been around a long time. Besides, first gens almost always have issues or quirks that don't get resolved till gen 3 or 4.

As somebody with 3 TItan X and planning to grab 1080s to tide me until P100, price of VR is still a big deal. Just because some have the money to pay for things doesn't mean we want to spend the money and essentially waste it if it's a dead end. As my job has DK2s and I've experience Vive and CV1 I can definitely say I have experience with VR and it's a toy. You can do lots of things and I'm even helping LM integrate VR in certain areas but at home it's still a toy. A 600 or 800 dollar freakin toy. When home VR is more relevant it may get a different designation to me, but for now it's a show piece. Something to tell your friends look at what I have. I'd rather spend 800 bucks on a set of cams for my car, something I use every day and puts a smile on my face, or get my SO something nice to put a smile on her face, buy the two kids something to put a smile on their face, take the family out on a trip, put a 4k TV in my room, whatever. I think a few are being a bit too pushy because they're enthusiastic about the product but that doesn't mean others share that same enthusiasm. Others might not want to put that money aside for something that could essentially turn into a dead end....again. Just my 2c.
