TechPowerUp released the latest version of GPU-Z, the popular graphics subsytem information, monitoring, and diagnostic utility that no PC enthusiast can leave home without. Version 0.8.8 adds a plethora of new user-interface features, and support for new GPUs. To begin with, we've consolidated all 'expert' features and settings into a convenient new "settings" dialog box, which appears when you click on the "hamburger" menu around the top-right corner of the main tab (next to the "screenshot" button). This is where you'll be able to configure how GPU-Z gets along with your machine, customize the "sensors" tab, and also use the refreshed "ASIC quality" information utility.

In addition to displaying your GPU's ASIC quality, GPU-Z now tells you how your ASIC compares to similar GPUs recorded in our GPU-Z validation database. GPU-Z can now read ASIC quality of AMD "Tonga" and "Fiji" GPUs. Support is added for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, GTX 980 (desktop on laptop), GTX 965M, 940M, 910M, GT 755M, Quadro M6000 24 GB, M4000M, K3100M, M500M, Tesla M40, and M60. GPU-Z can now correctly read BIOS from GPUs installed on motherboards/graphics cards with PLX PEX8747 PCIe bridge chips. Support is also added for Intel Iris Pro 530 "GT3e" graphics. More details in the change-log below.

The change-log follows.
  • Added a settings dialog that can be accessed via the icon in the top right of the window
  • Added ASIC quality reading for Fiji and Tonga
  • ASIC quality readout now compares your GPU against online data from GPU-Z validations
  • Added support for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, GTX 980 in laptop, GTX 965M, 940M, 910M, GT 755M, Quadro M6000 24 GB, M4000M, K3100M, M500M, Tesla M40, M60
  • Added support for Intel Iris Graphics 540
  • Fixed -card parameter not working correctly
  • Fixed bluescren on Cedarview, during temperature reading
  • Fixed Intel Iris Graphics 540 GPU name to correctly show GT3e
  • Fixed NVIDIA BIOS reading on systems with PLX PCIe bridge
  • Fixed hang on systems with disabled/broken HPET implementation
  • Slighty improved wording in BIOS Upload Dialog

Neat, I like the asic thing but wish it were on main screen so you could use the TPU screenshot ability within the application. Also I wish I had a newer card with this quality....I have a gtx 980 asus with asic quality of 80%! It says that's higher than 97% of cards like it in database lol, I had no idea till now. Now I just need that kind of luck on next card I buy many moons away.

Can't wait to get off work today. I am guessing my FuryX has a low 60% ASIC quality.

Yeah I upgraded my GPU-Z and noticed that feature and always did want to know that fact but I have to admit I was blown away that I had such a good card! Just too bad it's last gen and not even top model so probably not worth anything for selling purposes except to someone who specifically needs a card for ln2 experiments etc.

Well obviously I have a card in higher performance segment so I'm "luckier" in a way regardless of how it overclocks, course I paid for it particularly last year when I bought it. I have an intel ES 2011 cpu I got "cheap" almost 4 years ago and it can't use newer bios on board but 4.4 ghz 6 cores and asus rampage iv even though it is last gen in every way now still performs way better than I really need pretty much ever.

4.8 ghz seems pretty good on the cpu, I know it isn't equivalent to an intel at same speed etc but for raw speed seems like a very high overclock, I admit last AMD I owned was an fx-55 so I'm kinda behind on their tech.:).

You're right lol. On a much higher end card too so the luck is multiplied.

Yes it is a high overclock but the amount of voltage and cooling I have to supply is barely justified. It does perform decent at this speed for sure.

Yeah, obviously I was reminded of the "luck" differential when I looked at pixel fill rate and texture fill rate in particular but, as I said I paid 500+ for it new and probably now before new cards come out is best time for me to unload it for anything nearing that but especially seeing how cool the asic is and it sips power in idle fans off/etc I'll probably just keep it. To me the overclock doesn't seem that great but it does clock over 1500 mhz in games so especially with the memory running almost 2100 mhz minus 4k it can basically handle any game you throw at it, like my brand spanking new hot off the press only game I play half broken modded Skyrim game I'm playing again for the first time in a year:). Also first time I've posted here in...months.

Everybody with Fiji: please download GPU-Z 0.8.8, go to the validation tab and click submit, no need to fill out anything.

This will record your ASIC quality, for comparison with everybody else's.

At the moment there are only a few Fiji's in there, so your relative score is unrealistic.

I knew mine would suck, but looking at this low still makes me sad.
It might seem low until a better sample size is collated.
