GALAX GeForce GTX 1070 Box Pictured, PCB Renders Surface

Here are some of the first pictures of a GALAX branded GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card's box. Besides the SKU name, the box doesn't say much about the card it packs. Also pictured are renders of the GeForce GTX 1070 PCB from GALAX. This could very well be derived from NVIDIA's reference design PCB for the SKU. You can tell it's GTX 1070 looking at the bigger GDDR5 memory chips surrounding the ASIC. The card draws power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. The GeForce GTX 1070 goes on sale from June 10, 2016.

1x8 pin. Looks like 10xx will be tdp limited when overclocking. I still don't believe this Baby will be faster than a titan x/980ti reference as nvidia claims..

For X-70 class GPU's I am not sure I've ever seen any. Not in serial production at least. ( since GT9800 up until now ). There was Razor GTX460 , but it never took off ( and other similar designs ).

The only X-70 single slot GPU I remember was Sparkle GTX 570 , but only a show-piece . It was totally awesome though

As with the GTX 1080 you can see they have provided a location for an additional power connector. Giving flexibility for more "powerful" power supply/VRM configurations. Wise decision IMO.

For $380, as long as it is in the same ball park as them, I'll be happy.

Why would it be TDP limited any more than the GTX 1080 or existing 980/970? The 1080 also has a single 8 pin connector (150 W from 8 pin connector + 75 W from slot = 225 W). The 980 and 970 have two 6 pin connectors (2 * 75 W from 6 pin connectors + 75 W from slot = 225 W).

The 980/970 overclock well. The old AMD 7950, which also has two 6 pin connectors and a higher TDP than the 970/980/1080, also overclocked well. I don't think the power limit would be a problem.
