FSP Also Readies the Dagger Line of SFX PSUs

FSP is also giving finishing touches to its first SFX form-factor PSUs targeted at SFF gaming PC builds, with the Dagger series. These units feature fully modular cabling, with enough juice and straws for high-end CPU and graphics hardware. The series initially features 500W and 600W models, boasting of 80 Plus Gold efficiency ratings, DC-to-DC switching, and complies with the latest ATX v2.4 specifications. An 80 mm dual-bearing fan keeps the unit cool. The company will reveal more information, including tentative launch, at its 2016 Computex booth.

How is a con? Most SFX psu have 80mm fans on them. It is not trying to cool a whole case, the small enclosure is fine with 80mm.

Depends on how much heat the PSU produces. If the fan has to run fast/loud to keep up, it's a con. If not, no big deal.

Agreed. I prefer the fan to be as large as possible in order to be as quiet as possible. I don't know if a 92mm would fit, but if it could have, then that is definitely a con.

Silverstone has few SFX-L PSU's with 120mm fan. Yes, they are slightly longer, than pure SFX, but still good for most situations.

Price?
If the price is reasonable I would think of swapping my existing FSP atx PSU for this smaller one and have more space in the case, especially around the bottom edge of the Motherboard.

What's up with the Motherboard connector, it has an 18+10 pin connectors.

Perhaps it makes the internal design easier? My modular Seasonic is the same way, with 18+10 pin (1 empty, 27 total wires) on PSU side and a 20+4 connector for the motherboard. I'd have to turn this PC off and take the cable out to see which pins are doubled up.
