NVIDIA Vows to Fix GTX 1080 Founders Edition Fan Bug with Next Driver

NVIDIA announced that it will fix the issue of the erratic fan behavior issue affecting the GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition graphics card. The issue had scores of early adopters of the card complain of regular yet unpredictable spikes in fan speed, with no apparent temperature or load triggers. Late last week, NVIDIA announced that a driver-level fix for the issue passed internal testing at NVIDIA, and will soon be distributed with the next GeForce driver update for the card.

A pretty embarrasing bug for sure. Let's hope this fix really works and doesn't introduce other issues.

Many people thought the shroud design was inspired by Lamborghini, maybe they wanted to replicate the V12 engine revving up.

You might be on to something actually, the boy racers with their cheap stuff think they can keep up... but the reality is it's all noise.

That's what I find most humorous is that the majority of the comments on the issue come from people who don't even own the card. Some people seem to think brand bashing is a religion... and we all know it goes both ways.

That said, I'm sure the legit owners will appreciate the fix. It's not like there wasn't an issue, but I think early adopter issues are par for the course. I certainly had a few with Skylake.
