Noctua Unveils a Prototype 120 mm Slim Fan

Noctua unveiled a prototype slim 120 mm fan. The fan is just 15 mm thick (25 mm is the most common thickness for 120 mm fans). The fan features a metal reinforced hub, to make sure the hub and its four support structures don't disfigure over time. The motor features double ball bearing. The frame features a design that minimizes noise from the whiplash of the impeller. The frame further features rubber padding along the mount holes, to dampen vibration. Noctua did not put out fan-speed and air-flow numbers for this fan.

There are a lot of slim(20/15mm) 120/140mm fans on market, very useful for lowprofile cpu coolers in Mini-Itx builds. Nice to see Noctua offer a choice.

This is becoming ridiculus, Noctua have now shown the exact same products at Computex for 3 years running now. What a yawn fest they have become.

Oh yea? Last year they showed iPPC, Redux, industrial heatsinks, Chromax, and active noise canceling. They've only given progress reports on noise canceling each year. This year the only new thing they have shown is a slim fan which they definitely didn't have last year. In 2014 they had other prototype heatsinks for SFF, a weird velvet finned fan, and the first year of ANC. Not the same stuff 3 years in a row, especially last year.

Right. I just bought more iPPC fans for my rad and need a slim one.

i just wish slim fan with more blades, like jet engine. maybe it could solve the problem where we have limited space but need more airflow

I'm sorry for the late reply but having just seen this I wanted to post these links to their computex press releases, also this slim fan is still not available to buy, guarantee the same stuff rolls out at computex 2017 haha

No but my point was they have shown the slim 120mm fan for 3 years in a row and not actually released it for sale, and I predict they still wont by next year, but hope to be proven wrong
