Its kinda retarded to release the same cooling and same clocks card and just add your name on it.

Tell that to all the idiots who got "founders" edition cards by paying extra early adopters tax over the MSRP. In general its good to wait 4-6 months before getting new GPUs as it means the good drivers, supplies in retail and Custom coolers will be straightned out by then.

They will! I'm interested between them and Saphire, with what gets done on custom versions.

Well at least we get that fancy sticker on the fan!!! Lets you know how much more awesome the card is (sarcasm implied incase its not obvious).

We need custom versions with an 8 pin or dual 6 pin. Then we will be happy.

A long time ago I used to have an MSI GTX 460, Twin Frozr 2 cooling, it was a beast, custom PCB, nothing like the reference model. Look at this now, hahahaha.
Not upgrading my R9 270X until I get something like that with the RX 470/480.

Most custom designs aren't announced until a good while after the reference launch. MSI didn't let out anything about their 1080 Gaming X until like a week or two after 1080 was first released, and it was just leaked images from Computex at first. This is perfectly normal.

As for the clocks, it seems the 480 reference cooling solution is only really reliable at stock clocks, so they must've just decided against even bothering with it. 'Overclock this weak setup at your own peril' approach. Really, if you want higher clocks, you should wait and get a custom card.

i just painted some old 6970's from msi , and they had literally just slapped their msi sticker over the the original radeon stickers..

That's all any of the makers do with reference designs, unless they later add their own blower model. Just look at the last several generations of cards from both sides.
