Full size ATX might be worthwhile again for a lot of gamers just for the PCI-E slots.
A lot of people run M-ATX/ITX these days.

PCI-e exists beyond the slot pictured. Remember M.2 supports a full PCI-e 3.0 4x interface.

lol 2 digits of precision on that 4 year prediction, how to spot line noise.

Gotta love the accuracy 33.24%, no guessing that it be 25-33% it's just a pain 33.24% :p.

I can bet 1000 euro, the number by 2020 will be different. No man can predict with that accuracy.

Probably they used some kind of logarithmic formulas to calculate that. However, there are so many variables in the equation, so you are right, the last 2 digits don't make sense.

Well they do have a 4 year gap for it to hit a percentage and chances are it will be going up for sure and with prices dropping. So it's more about the gap than the percentage.

So they can get a pat on the back for some thing.

Just saying 33.24% makes they sound good. I would not be surprised if the number is much higher by 2020.

if we're counting m2 as pcie then laptops will drive it not servers like they expect. unless someone is coming out with an M2 based san that I haven't heard of.

M.2 is certainly considered in this, as most M.2 drives are PCIE models.

Servers will still be driving much of the demand though. consumer experience with M.2 vs sata III is nothing like the HDD -->SSD jump was. Given the extra life given to old systems by putting SSDs into them, I'd bet it is going to take awhile before m.2 becomes ubiquitous with new systems. At least for mid range and low end laptops.

Most M.2 drives are still sata. There are just now starting to be models released for PCI-e outside of the 3 samsung drives that have been out for a year or two now. (950Pro, SP951, PM951)
