The EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 and 1070 FTW HYBRID cards are built from the ground up to be the best closed loop cooling solution for NVIDIA based graphics cards on the planet. It starts with power, our cards use our award winning FTW components, giving you the best power delivery, plus additional features like dual BIOS's, RGB Lighting, a 10CM fan and more.

On top of that, we took our award winning HYBRID solution, and cranked up a notch with a 10CM axial fan (delivering lower noise levels) and a dedicated memory cooling plate that makes direct contact with the water cooling block. Of course, the HYBRID water cooling solution gives you unbelievable GPU temperatures, sometimes cutting your GPU load temperatures in half! Best of all? The EVGA HYBRID cards need no maintenance, no filling, no hassle. All backed by EVGA legendary Warranty. The choice is simple, EVGA HYBRID products are truly water cooled perfection.

Features
  • Built on Pascal - The EVGA GeForce GTX 1080/1070 HYBRID features the most advanced GPU architecture ever made, designed to be the engine of next generation gaming.
  • Hydro Performance Without the Hassle - All in one cooling solution that is completely self-contained. No filling, no custom tubing, no maintenance. Just plug and play.
  • Sleek Looks - Intelligent wiring system and sleeved tubing make this one sleek cooler without the messy wires.
  • Copper Base Built for GPU's - A copper base that is BUILT for GPU's, the ONLY way to get the best temps possible.
  • Dedicated Memory Plate - A dedicated memory plate that makes DIRECT contact with the water cooling block. This gives the lowest memory temperatures possible.
  • Built in Radiator and Fan - Built in 120mm radiator and fan helps dissipate the heat keeping the GPU as cool as possible. Fan can also be swapped or customized.
  • FTW Features - 10 Phase Power System with Dual BIOS gives you the performance and features that go for the win.
  • Adjustable RGB LED - An RGB LED that allows complete control of the color through EVGA Precision XOC

Pointless cards. These things wont OC any higher then air cooled cards. And air cooled cards can keep temperatures far below the throttling point.

So what's the point of paying even more for a water cooled model?

Idk about that, could be allowing a lot more overclocking control on these cards with higher voltages etc.
I know its just a render, but look, it has 2 x 8pin connector instead of 1.

You'd be paying an extra $100.00 for an extra 1fps. If you're buying it for looks that's one thing, but if you're buying it for extra performance you're wasting your money.

Well, where did you get the info that it would only be 1 fps?
If we take a look at TPU's last GTX1070 review:
https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_1070_Gaming_Z/29.html
The OCing of that card brought in 14 fps.

Now if this version allows for higher clocks and voltages and the cooling can keep it within limits, then why would it be only 1 fps?

Overclocking aside, because not everyone wants that 1 extra fps, this card should be a lot cooler, and some people are looking for that, particularly in hot climates.

My EVGA 1070 FTW has 2 x 8pin connectors and still only OCs to about 2100mhz on the core and with the fans set at 50% it sits at around 55 degrees celcius at full load. if this hybrid runs a normal bios its not going to go any further so definitely not worth the extra money

Noise... less of it.

Ah well there we go.
But could you tell me what you mean with "OCs to about 2100mhz"?
As in, going any higher makes it unstable?

yeah anything over 2101mhz on the core would cause it to lock-up in firestrike, could get about 2110mhz stable in unigen heaven benchmark.

I agree, the card is pointless without the hard limit of ~1.093V on the core increased. Having a AIO watercooler on a product that's extremely cool and quiet with (non-FE editions) is kinda redundant. The tubes and rad/fan combination just makes it cumbersome and takes up more room.

This would be good for someone going to do a volt mod with solder and shit.

(im referring to the 1070 version fyi)

Ti model or it doesn't matter.

a thank you.
and upping the voltage to compensate is not possible or does not help?

Noise, typically. A radiator can exhaust heat directly out of the case with a single fan and can do it at a lower RPM. Cooler temperatures increase longevity as well.

Well, at least it's easier to get the heat generated by the GPU out of the case..
