SilentiumPC Intros the Grandis 2 XE1436 CPU Cooler

SilentiumPC introduced the Grandis 2 XE1436, its flagship CPU air cooler. This D-type aluminium fin twin-stack cooler can deal with thermal loads of up to 250W, making it ideal for HEDT CPUs in the LGA2011v3 package, or even certain high-TDP AMD FX chips. The heatsink features an exposed copper base, from which six 6 mm-thick copper heat pipes make indirect contact with the CPU, passing through the two aluminium fin stacks on their both ends.

The fin-stacks and tips of the heat pipes are topped off with matte-black covers. The cooler includes two fans, a 120 mm SilentiumPC Sigma Pro (push), and a 140 mm Sigma Pro-L (nested between the two fin-stacks). Both fans feature 4-pin PWM power inputs. The cooler measures 130 mm x 105 mm x 159 mm, and weighs 1.03 kg. It supports all modern CPU socket types, including LGA2011v3/LGA2011, LGA115x, LGA1366, AM3(+), and FM2(+). A tube of SilentiumPC Pactum TIM comes included. The company didn't reveal pricing or availability information.

Depending on your case, the rear case fan will be very close, and the included fans are blowing towards the rear (on the board shown), so it is like having 3 fans on the cooler. Nice that they installed the 140mm fan in the middle, where it can't cause clearance issues. Also the 140 hangs below the radiators a little, improving air flow over the socket/RAM/VRM area. Should be a very decent performer.

with 120 to 140 mm fens is achieved in the first part of the lower vacuum pressure creates additional cooling. This is the main peculiarity of these types of cooling and and achieve distances up RAM units. A the side they did not close the air flow so that it will not be added cooling. tests will shove.

Which is gonna do little to nothing in Temps.

A cooler like that only needs a Fan in the middle.

That Assassin is a monster! How are your temps? How's your motherboard holding up under 3 pounds of cooler? The backplate looks strong enough to hoist the engine out of my truck, so I'd guess it's not a problem...

Temps are great 21c min 37c max after running wprime on 6 cores @ 3.5 GHz

Motherboard holds up well never an issue really.
