ASUS Announces the TUF Sabertooth 990FX R3.0 Motherboard

I'm glad they did a revision, it added functions that r2.0 doesn't have, Gen3 R2.0 was a short run board because most realised that pcie 3.0 isn't fully utilized anyway. Asus is using up the 990FX chips to make way for Zen. I presume GA and MSI are following suit too

This board is as they said for those wanting to hang onto their chip. I have a 8150FX and a Asus Sabertooth R2.0 a nice chip, just bought a DeepCool Gnome case and have it currently rolling at 4.5 GHZ Stable far from it's max. Why did I buy the liquid cooled case? The 95 Watt Zen would work circles (more then double) around the chip I possess at it's defaults. Excluding IPC. The 8150 I possess is 125 watts, 95 watts Extra cooling means a Intel killer in it's purest form, not that it needs it. Research gentlemen "Google is your friend" The X370 and Zen will lay waste to all Intel has. You do know the Documents for Intels next chip has dropped on the net and does not hold a candle to what is coming from AMD in February.

At this point I will rip out the Sabertooth R2.0 and replace it with a Zen / X370 & DDR 4. Not a cheap ride, but cheaper then paying for a 10 core Intel, and I mean just the Intel chip. I will work circles around the $1,700 chip.

TUF Sabertooth board with no thermal armor? WTF Asus, thats the main feature of TUF boards and you take it out this board?

Not all TUF Sabertooth boards have armor, the previous AM3+ board and the X79 one don't (IMO it looks better).
