Alphacool is announcing today the next evolution in pump technology with the VPP755 Eispump. Built completely from the ground-up, this new pump design throws out all the old problems with the well-known D5 pumps and retains only the compatibility to all current D5 tops and brackets. The VPP755 Eispump dispenses with the spherical bearing, and opts instead for a ceramic shaft that allows for quieter operation. The motor's coils are now on the outside instead of inside. According to Alphacool, all of these innovations provide more stability, which results in less vibration. It also means the power consumption is cut nearly in half. Yet the VPP755 Eispump still boasts a 4m maximum head for higher performance. The VPP755 Eispump is also distinctly quieter than the classic, well-known D5 pump while providing the same performance.

One of the innovations of the VPP755 Eispump is its many control options. The 4-pin molex connection provides the power, and plugs directly into the power supply. If desired, the 3-pin connection can be used to read the pump's RPM. This can be connected to the corresponding motherboard header or to a fan controller. The VPP755 Eispump also includes a 4-pin PWM connection, from which the pump can be controlled by PWM as usual, with the RPM also being readable through this connection.

On the backside of the pump there is a small rotary switch, which has 5 levels for manually controlling the pump. The unique thing here is that the manual control and PWM control can now work together - a system patented by Alphacool. Using the rotary switch, the general maximum RPM for the pump can be set, which then cannot be exceeded by the PWM control. Practically, this means that if the pump is set to level 3 with a maximum RPM of 3200, you can also only reach a maximum RPM of 3200 through the PWM control, allowing for true user-set cooling and noise levels.

The company has also released a specifications list, which you can read below:

  • Dimensions (DxH): 60 x 53,5mm
  • Cable length: 50cm
  • Standard voltage: 12V DC
  • Power consumption: 14W
  • Accepted voltage: 8-13v DC
  • Pressure at 12V: 4m head
  • Maximum flow: 350l/h
  • Pump fluid: water, water/glycol mixture
  • Maximum system temperature: 65°C
  • Power connection: 4-pin Molex
  • Speed sensor signal: 3-pin
  • PWM signal: 4-pin
  • Special features: adjustable to five levels
  • Level 1: 1800 RPM
  • Level 2: 2500 RPM
  • Level 3: 3200 RPM
  • Level 4: 3900 RPM
  • Level 5: 4500 RPM

The VPP755 Eispump is now available for $70.

COOL nice corrections . It could be any of at least 5 mm below the flat capacitors are available. to the rotor, regardless of that this is a most capable pump on the market is here little more rubber on the rotor will be nice a larger inlet opening we hew ! Rubber silences operation and larger inlet opening will allow more inlet fluid into the rotor. in real terms it will remain unused because it is here in, too many cycle bottlenecks. higher volume of the rotor could obtain greater pressure to this there i does not see .good snail with a housing which well-seals also produced much better results. There have been some attempts to manufacture the rotor as for large pumps, but without success. That did not take into account the viscosity and more .Thus, the new 775 ruled in capacity which is only on paper. If you need more pressure connect 2 sequentially or parallel which will more precisely you can add another pair of pull-out it may happen that something will burst GL. :) Opening for cable had a different purpose, looking at the form and I would suggest a docking link .is good duo nice product .

That is interesting, they switched to an aquarium style shaft design. It looks so similar to typical submersible pumps now. Just finished skimming thru the review. The VPP has just made the old D5 obsolete I think. Nice work Alpha.

I read the extreme rigs review a few days ago and it is NOT "compatible to all current D5 tops and brackets"

nice looking pumps though, hope they tidy up the cables, and maybe add proper pwm in future revisions

If I ever get around to creating a custom loop, the controls and PWM limiting make this pump number one on the parts list.

I know what I want for xmas now! I had to mount my D5/res combo on rubber stand-offs and it's still not as quiet as I'd like, this looks like just the job.

Awesome, I'm a big, big fan of alphacool, especially because they're not EK or bitspower (I've gotten really tired of seeing the same exact EK or bitspower hardware in every single build, I need variety!), but also because their excellent quality.
