Than why such a big performance difference between an i3 and an i5? Both are capable of executing 4 threads at once.

Do I really have to spell it out for you? Just because it's running 4 threads doesn't mean they're all executing in the same amount of time. Two HT threads would be lucky (on a good day,) to have the same throughput as a single fully fledged core.

It's like getting super excited about having a V8 or an I6 in your car or truck but, then forgetting that it's only a 2.0 liter engine.

Can't bring myself to care, never used an i3 in my life, or an i5 for that matter.

Then I'm going to assume you don't know that the i3 6100 is one of the most powerful processors for single threaded workloads to date. Single threaded workloads biggest application source, is games. So in short it's one of the most powerful gaming processors to date. So beating out an i3 in gaming in any way shape or form using and A8 that isn't even "Zen" is big news. Because an A8 isn't designed to be a good CPU, it's designed to be a decent CPU with decent GPU. So you should bring yourself to care, if an A8 is beating an i3 that means a whole lot.

With Ht so it acts as a quad.

Hyperthreading doesn't all the sudden make you have a 4 core CPU, it just allows 2 threads to do the same task at once. 4 physical cores >>>>> 4 logical cores.

Read the thread I replied to similar comment ,I know what Ht is by the way and you got that wrong ,it allows two threads to use the full resources of one core ,not exactly both at the same time though.
