This generation was a rather sizable leap for both camps (admittedly, after years of stagnation because of being stuck at 28nm). The next generation will be much tamer. Probably HBM with a few tweaks. Personally, I think the next significant leap will be in 2018/2019 when 4k gaming will (hopefully) reach mid-range cards.though i generally agree with your points, I'm not so sure that Nvidia can provide the same perf gains in the next GPU cycle. only time will tell though.
Needless to say, both AMD and Nvidia are free to prove me wrong
