Which Phanteks cases are going to be compatible with Usb 3.1? Gigabyte and asus are also teasing front panel 3.1 Type C compatibility(I suspect only top end mainstream board will come with that header). Also compared to older 3.0 header this new header is much better and should stay in place.

So is this only for the Enthoo Elite? Because that's going to be like a $600-700 case... hardly mainstream. I assume this will be seen in more new cases, as and when they are announced? Nothing new on Phanteks announced from lately, apart from the Elite. Perhaps CES will reveal new models?

I think so. Phantek might have a new fleet of cases coming next year too which will incorporate this one would think. I hope so. I want them to launch a new Enthoo Evolv that doesnt have a super restrictive top panel.

Amen to that brother. The USB 3.0 header/cable is an abomination that should never have been unleashed on the world. Now the most we can hope for is that it dies a quick death.

Humm,,,, funny you should say that....

My mobo has 2 of the USB 3 headers supposedly supporting 2 ports each. My case has 2 ports built-in to it's front panel, and I have a 3.5" bay device that has 2 additional ports.

Regardless of which set of ports I have devices plugged into or which cable is connected to which connector, one or the other is flakey as hell, sometimes the devices are recognized some other times they are not...

Through a process of trial and error, I concluded that is mostly a bandwidth/throughput issue with the controller, which apparently can't handle all 4 USB 3 ports being used at the same time :(

I finally resorted to running a short adapter/extender cable to connect the bay device into the USB-C port on the back plane....problem solved :)

It's probably because that board uses a hub chip to multiplex 2 of the chipset's USB 3.0 ports to 4 ports for the internal headers. My "ancient" Gigabyte Z77 board has a similar setup and similar issues; I would've thought/hoped Gigabyte would've learned by now, but apparently not.
