4 phase also doesn't mean bad. You can have a well setup 4 phase and a poorly setup 8 phase. We don't know where this falls in the lineup judging from the single 16x slot I wouldn't imagine to far up.

No it doesnt mean bad, but it does mean you can easily calculate the max rating off high end vrm and you will see a low ceiling.

Just like nvidias reference designs. I never said it's bad, it's just not useful for anything beyond the basics making this board leak pretty irrelevant to most enthusiasts.

Not sure how they got an additional 3 phases though.

The physical connections are split 4/3 electrically in the picture via chokes.

There is also what appears to be a phase up by the memory itself in the opposite corner of the board as it's got the same mosfet copper pads adjacent to an inductor.

Some odd pcb layout at a minimum.

Would make more sense, but still makes it a 4 phase vcore.


At least AMD finally went with 4 mounting holes, hopefully the dimensions are similar to 115x/2011.

The Gigabyte board has only phase 7 support for the VRM, the MSI Titanium has 8 phase power support for the VRM which is superior and should give better overheatring control.
