ASUS ProArt PA32U is a Beautiful 4K-HDR Monitor

ASUS ProArt series of monitors are designed to look good on a corporate hotshot's desk, and the PA32U is no exception. This 32-inch monitor features a Quantum Dot display panel, which can reproduce 99.5% of the Adobe RGB color-space, 85% of REC.2020, 95% of DCI-P3, and 100% of sRGB. The star attraction here is 4K-HDR support, which is achieved using a full 384-zone direct-LED backlight matrix. The LED driver electronics operate at 1 ms, for more realistic HDR in videos. The monitor takes input from Thunderbolt, in addition to DisplayPort.

Nope it's not, it's just much easier with IPS than TN...

IPS in usual has better color gamut than TN, that's why almost 95% of screens destined for actual productions are IPS, HDR actually increases these gamut requirements more than what an IPS can handle with regular LED/backlighting which is one of the main factors of why the IPS gamut behave... so yes you can use QLED or QD lighting on TN to increase the gaumt also, but you'll still have narrower gaumt than IPS so it will be harder to get what the HDR standards require...

Interesting choice of adjective, what ever it means. For me it looks plain ugly and is way too small(seeing kids using my pc that monitor would flip over under week).

If they can up this to 75Hz+ and support adaptive sync as well as change the stand it could be tempting.

I'd really like to see 120Hz UHD, ASync, HDR and 95%+ of Rec. 2020 and some kind of ultra-fast/synced back-light strobing (as well as the local dimming or OLED/equivalent) before getting a new monitor.

I think it will come/is probably working in labs but we are, as usual, being drip fed. The companies do have to make some money I suppose.

Yes, I forgot to add I want my UHD in 32 or 37" ... I think 37" may be the magic size for a desktop monitor at the rear edge of my desk.

Does the pg27uq have adaptive sync? I didn't see it specifically mentioned but it is bed time.
