XFX introduced the Radeon RX 480 Crimson Edition 8 GB graphics card (model: RX-480P8LFR6). Based mostly on the board design of the RX 480 Double Dissipation card the company launched its RX 480 lineup with, this card features red LED illumination for the two fans, and the XFX logo on the top side of the cooler. As with the Double Dissipation, the Crimson Edition card features detachable, hard-swappable fans that stay off when the GPU is idling.

The card is clocked at 1288 MHz core, and 8.00 GHz (GDDR5-effective) memory, a minor core overclock against 1266 MHz reference. The card draws power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. Display outputs include three DisplayPorts, and one each of DVI and HDMI 2.0b. A full-length back-plate comes included. The company didn't reveal pricing. The company also plans to launch "Crimson Edition" variants of its RX 480 4 GB and RX 470 graphics cards.

they forgot to call it ReLive edition

Who is buying a RX480 with VEGA around the corner?
3-4 months is a pretty big corner, vega wont replace polaris, vega is better than polaris, polaris will rebrand to 580 or 570 or whatever the numbers are... polaris is only matching 1060, vega has to compete with 1070 & 1080

edit: if it wasnt clear, under $250 is not for vega

Don't let them fool you. This is the same as any other of their cards. This just comes boxed with the red LED fans and a logo. Believe it or not, on the stock cooler, the pinout is even there for the LED logo, but nothing is attached.

If you can find the card cheaper online and just get the red LED fans, it is the exact thing

Well not entirely, there was talk of a vega based replacement for the rx480 which might be at that price point.

@XFXSupport how come you guys removed the RX480 bios files from your website and left the broken links on product pages?

@XFXSupport how come you guys removed the RX480 bios files from your website and left the broken links on product pages?

The bios files page is removed from the main page, but you can find the hidden page if you had an old link.

Long story short, sales guys got reviews saying the fans were loud, driving reviews down. Engineers disagreed and confirmed the fans aren't any louder than typical gpus in that range, but the sales team wanted something done. a Silent BIos was made, they lowered the fan curve 10% and temps raised 10%. All speeds elsewhere changed the same.. a purely cosmetic bios update that was hardly noticeable.

Then 5 customers in 1 day bricked their cards from flashing the wrong bios file from bad tips/suggestions outside of xfxsupport.com, and after a few weeks of more Bricked cards, we took it down.

Thank you. So there are no plans for bios updates to the cards?

There are horizontal to vertical adapters so that you can have the GPU face outwards.

The fans are then oriented facing toward the motherboard, Can't face the other way like you stated with just a 90 degree riser because it would interfere with the space occupied by cpu cooler and ram.

Perhaps you missed the link to the EZDIY PCI Express extension cable? It isn't a 90 degree riser it is what ever angle you want it to be. Have another look at the link and you will see an example of how someone has the fans facing away from the motherboard as well as a decent distance from the motherboard itself which helps with the heat dissipation.

have you not seen all the interesting cases in the last few years?

not to mention the fact that on a standard case, you will light up the bottom to give a nice soft glow rather than seeing the harsh LEDs directly

I'm not going to get into that so I'll just give that one to you.

My post was regarding 90 degree risers pointing out the video card would be oriented in a fashion depicted in the first pic of whatever that is, and the BTX case at the bottom is no different from what I said. I on the subject of risers, not enclosures, highly niche ones at that.
