AMD Sues the Mobileverse: Claims LG, Mediatek, Others Infringe on its GPU IP

Yeah... having a degree in engineering or computer science doesn't make you good at making decision.
-Pricing the R7 1700 at $320 and the 1800X at $500 when the 1700 is almost as fast the 1800X is DUMB.
-Selling +$200 motherboards for chips that don't overlock is DUMB.
-Marketing these 8 core CPUs as gemming products when they're absolutely not is DUMB.
Do I have to keep going?

You just won a personal darnwin award. Why dont you go take an application and show how it's done? Why dont you be head of developing a Ryzen chip and lead different engineers with different classes? Why dont you be head of sales and start promoting to the IT world in both enterprise and consumer?

Why dont you tell us likewise, and show how it's done?

Lol.

Congratulations, you just played yourself... DUMB :nutkick: :nutkick::nutkick::nutkick::nutkick::toast::nutkick::nutkick::nutkick::nutkick::nutkick:

Amd are not a patent troll
they developed the IP
they used the IP
they licenced the ip to Others ( for Payment ie Royalitys )
They Deserve to benefit from ip they developed
patent trolls just acquire IP for the purpose of extracting payment from others

You're right its not just protecting them selves but also protecting the others who payed for it and they had to I incorporate that fee into their product and be at disadvantage.
If they don't take any action what is incentive of any company paying for it.
And I guess its up to the court to make the final decision.

...Proving it in court....In there lies the rub. Even though AMD may be in the right...If there case isn't presented and executed ...Or even worded correctly.....They can still loose.

Not if stop and think for a second. Knowing that all Ryzen 7 are the same silicon just being tested and binned and 4Ghz is their limit. I'm pretty sure that they have way more 1700s than 1800s binned for sale.
So that's why the buyer is steered towards 1700.
And there are always gonna be people who would not mind paying extra to get the best thing out of the box.
Also sometimes applying simple math doesn't always work.
Like 50% more expensive but only 20% faster so means its not worth it.
Look it like this compare build vs build.
Ryzen 7 1800x build $1200 Ryzen 7 1700 build $1000 20% more expensive and 20% faster that sounds about right.

Ryzen 7 1700 can overclock from 3GHz base clock to 4GHz I would call that a good overclock.
I don't think that AMD initially wanted to clock the chips so high but once they did the initial benchmarks they were left with the choices of having
poor performing product or poor overclocker.
They went with the second choice which I think is great damage limitation from AMD.
Plus with time the manufacturing will improve and I think we will get chips that will oc higher.

-Marketing these 8 core CPUs as gemming products when they're absolutely not is DUMB.
Not good at gaming based on couple games that when they were developed not even the first transistor in Ryzen wasn't designed.
Kicking 7700k@5GHz,(aka the best gaming cpu) ass.
I would say that qulifies the Ryzen 7 as gaming cpu.

science has progressed to the point where Stem cells ( which can be triggered to form Brain cells ) can now be Analy inserted ( at a Cost ) Not available in the USA under Trumpcare
