I hate those bastards. They intentionally "forget" to add the write speeds on the MicroSDXC cards. Probably because is a crappy 20MB/s or so....

I'm still holding out for the 512gb micro sdxc cards that I know are coming, at some point, even if outrageously overpriced at first.

Does anyone know anything about laser engraving and why the cost is so high, even for relatively small items?

Does anyone know anything about laser engraving and why the cost is so high, even for relatively small items?

For a short period of time I wrote scripts for a laser engraver (mostly barcoding). Without knowing more, my guess is the cost of the script which is the same for small or large runs. For me that was between 1000 and 100000 items. Then material is priced based on quantity.

If we're talking about a few personalized items, you're probably going to business in a strip-mall/mall to have it done? They have easier to use but more limited engraving machines. They don't usually have a programmer on staff, but rather just trying to make rent.
