ASUS Intros the VG275Q 27-inch Gaming Monitor

ASUS introduced the VG275Q, a "cost-effective" 27-inch gaming-grade monitor. Its Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) native resolution and TN-film panel are nothing to write home about, but you get 1 ms response time, 75 Hz refresh-rate, game-type display presets, and AMD FreeSync support. Other panel specs include 170°/160° (H/V) viewing angles, 300 cd/m² maximum brightness, rheostatic (non-PWM) method of controlling LED brightness, making it flicker-free, blue-light reduction, and a maximum power draw of just 40W. Inputs include one DisplayPort 1.2a (needed for FreeSync), two HDMI 1.4a, and D-Sub. The stand allows height, tilt, and 90° rotation. The monitor is expected to be priced around $300.

For the price, one would expect at east 144Hz. This really doesn't make any sense. Either there is a typo with refresh rate or the thing is really this ridiculously overpriced.

because it says "cost-effective" - so it must be true - grab while you can...

This is not first 1080 @60-75fps monitor in 2017 (I repeat - 2017) - where they take the cheapest outdated monitor - slap a "gaming" and "cost-effective" (or smililar) in the naming... and then slap at least +100% of its initial price - but apparently this works good for business.

Disappointing for a monitor. 27-inch with 1920x1080 is gonna look a little blurry for some... asking price for a 75Hz FreeSync panel is a little too much. Get a monitor without this FreeSync crap for less will do the job. Heck, even the ROG Swift PG248Q has a faster refresh rate @ 240Hz for a 1080p G-Sync TN panel with a slightly smaller screen; at 24.5-inch. Even that monitor's $599 price tag sounds much more worth for all that spec.

For a little bit more you can get a better brand like Dell, the S2417DG can be found for about 350 if you are looking around. Its 1440p, 144-165hz and has G-Sync.
