AMD EPYC Launch Date Revealed

At its Computex 2017 event, AMD announced the market availability of EPYC enterprise processors based on the "Zen" architecture. The chips will be available from June 20, 2017. The company didn't get into the specifics, however we know that EPYC consists of chips with up to 32 cores, up to 64 threads, up to 32 MB of L3 cache, and a vast 112-lane PCIe root complex. There could be 1P and 2P models.

"June 20th" or will it actually be June 20th, only time will tell. Hopefully there isn't as much of a shortage on motherboards. I would actually like one of these.

112 pcie? isnt it suposed to be 128?, and in 2P servers its 64+64, because it has to use 64 of those for Infinity Fabric

hmm depend on price....... becouse now i have two xeons e5 2699 V4 22+22 - 88 cores HT on 2100 mhz uder heavy load avx for exemple. FOR 750 +750 usd from ebay es cpus + mobo supermicro and 64 gb 2133 mhz ddr4 ram cost me cca 2500 usd TOTAL .
so if TWO amd niples 128 HT cores maybe on 2500mhz on heavy load with avx will cost 2000usd with shipping and tax.... it will be better than intel .. but i think not will happen
naples will huge big cpu s and price will higher than intel .
its still so many EE 2699v4 on ebay if somebody want many cores fro some application

Comparing the eBay price to the new price is a little unfair. For enthusiasts it might be a alternative but big businesses usually goes to a dealer to get new stock, and this series of CPUs are meant for big businesses.

I think the owners of the site will find that language to be objectionable

Also used vs new parts, when did this comparison become valid all of a sudden in regards to VFM?

There should be 64 MB of L3 cache on the 32 core version. Not 32 MB as the article states.
