Razer is launching an updated, TKL (Tenkeyless) version of the Chroma V2 keyboard, which we covered back in January. The keyboard's actual product name is "Razer BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma V2". Like the Chroma V2, it's available with Razer's three desktop switches (Yellow, Orange, or Green), and boasts a detachable USB cable and likewise detachable wrist rest.

Unchanged BlackWidow features on this Chroma V2 version include Razer's Chroma lighting (which boasts individually backlit keys at 16.8 million colors per key), with Chroma effects powered by Razer's Synapse software. 10 key roll-over anti-ghosting and fully programmable keys with on-the-fly macro recording options are present, with the keyboard featuring 1000 Hz polling, a braided USB cable, a USB pass-through and a 3.5 mm 4-pole audio pass-through jack.

An actual update to the V2 Chroma is the addition of what Razer calls "Instant Trigger Technology", which activates upon actuation, whereas " (...) the new Razer Instant Trigger Technology (ITT) immediately sends the signal to your system, canceling any need for a debounce delay". Interesting, that one.

The TKL version of the Chroma V2 is available on Razer's site for $140, with no pricing differentiation between the different Yellow, Orange or Green switches.

Razer is a childish brand, in a negative sense. Cheap plastic, high prices, cheesy logo/colors and product names. Oh and the warranty is awful, short (about a year less than Logitech on average) and they don't pay for shipping (while Logitech does... both ways).

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o

i take a G410 Atlas Spectrum over that one anytime ... well that's the Keyboard i use actually ... (or even a Roccat Ryos TKL Pro which is also cheaper but only had blue lights :p )

way cheaper, more resilient and well ... unlike some Razer product i tested, it will last way after the warranty's end ( Naga: 2 RMA in 6 month, Lycosa: 1 RMA second time didn't even bother to RMA it ... i switched brand to Roccat, oh, and a Razer Electra headset: no RMA but the foam pad linking the earcup to the frame disintegrated themselves ....)

for me Razer rhyme with "never again"

High prices high failure rates. Example that one xbox sabertooth controller they made. I really wanted one sadly.

I hear the Razer app is also a disaster to work with.

Yeah I'm staying far, far away.

Had razer keyboard, mouse and tiamat headset baaack in the day. Keyboard broke in less than a year, mouse broke every 2 months, headset broke after 2 weeks, right speaker started buzzing....

Never ever again.

Keyboard wise, my current love is steelseries 6gv2, using for 6th year now, with o-rings mod. PS2, classic, minimalistic, heavy, Cherry Mx Black keys, media buttons and rock solid build. What else can you need?

Do Razor keyboards come with a plastic cover now ?, when i got my 2 BW keyboard which failed with in 14 months never came with one.

It's all plastic. Not even high quality plastic, like corsair or logitech, but cheap looking brown/grey tint refurbished stuff. Anyone who pays razer retail prices on it is crazy.

Also, 6 month warranty on mouse pads?! Logitech gives 3 years!

I'll be honest, my Razer Mamba 2012 wireless mouse lasted 18months before the battery bulged and dragged its battery cover on my mouse mat. Razer replaced the mouse with a Mamba TE which I know is technically a downgrade to a wired mouse but I didn't mind too much. They did this despite the battery only having a warranty of 6months. They also sent me a new mouse mat as they said they were disappointed that one of their devices damaged something else I owned. I should note though that my one of my local computer stores who I bought it from helped me out dealing with Razer so credit to them as well. So I'm pretty happy with their service. Frankly the Mamba fits my hand fairly perfectly so it doesn't bother me that much if it's Razer branded.

BUT I do know that this kind of service is quite rare from Razer and I know that many of my friends and others online who have been ripped off by the brand so I tend not to recommend them.
