What is it?
The Alphacool Eisbaer is an expandable, refillable CPU all-in-one watercooler with a pure copper radiator. The Eisbaer can be expanded with additional Eisbaer Ready products such as the Eiswolf GPX-Pro graphics card cooler, among others.

With the Eisbaer 420mm, Alphacool presents what is currently the largest and most powerful AIO water cooler in the world. With its mighty 420mm pure copper radiator and three 140mm Eiswind fans, the ability to cool any current CPU is more than just guaranteed. The quick connectors mean you can add any Eisbaer Ready products or custom water cooling gear to the cooling loop. The cooling performance of the mighty 420mm pure copper radiator is enough to add more than one graphics card to the loop, or any other components that will be cooled with water. The 420mm pure copper radiator and the included Eiswind fans can easily provide the necessary cooling power.

In order to round out the lower end of the product palette, Alphacool is also offering the Eisbaer 140mm. It perfectly closes the performance gap between the 120 and 240mm models. It uses the same quiet-but-strong pump - the DC-LT Ultra Low Noise Ceramic pump.

Highlights
  • Prefilled watercooler for your CPU
  • Quick connectors make it easy to expand and upgrade with Eisbaer Ready
  • Pure copper radiator for maximum cooling performance
  • DC-LT Ultra Low Noise ceramic pump for whisper-quiet operation
  • Refillable via the fill port on the reservoir.

Radiator
Alphacool relies on a radiator made of full copper. The base of the radiator is the popular Alphacool NexXxoS series, which is extremely popular worldwide. The pure copper construction enormously increases the cooling performance compared to the conventional aluminum radiators of classic AIOs. The low fineness ensures an enormous cooling performance for low-speed fans. As a result, the performance of the Eisbaer in the down-regulation of the fans is much slower than with radiators with high fineness.

Hoses
The flexible PVC hoses facilitate the installation of the ice packers. This allows the hoses to be laid more easily and placed in the right position. In order to prevent them from bending and thus the flow of the water being stopped, kinking springs are found on both hoses. The size 11 / 8mm also comes from the normal water cooling range and is here beside 13/10 and 16/10 a common size.

Quick release fasteners
The Eisbear has been designed on expandability. Therefore, you can find a quick-release fastener on one of the hoses. This quick release is compatible with the Alphacool HF quick-release fasteners (1010383, 1010394, 1010395, 1010442), which allows you to easily expand the circuit by a radiator with a graphics card cooler.
Furthermore, the Eisbaer is compatible with the upcoming Alphacool GPX-Pro graphics cards AIO which will use identical quick-release fasteners.

Fans
The ice-wind fans have been specially developed for radiators and create a high static pressure to push cool air between the cooling fans. Both fans run permanently with 1100U / min. A PWM Y adapter is attached to the ice bucket, so both fans can be controlled via a PWM connection on their mainboard or a separate fan control.

Connections
All connections are based on the classic G1 / 4 inch thread. The standard thread in water cooling. Therefore all connections can be changed at any time. This also means that they can later, for example, rely on thicker hoses or even hardtubes to make their system more individual.

All these features make the Eisbaer cooler something special. The upgraded optics by the illuminated logo and the illuminated compensating container in which the pump is located, let the interior of each PC shine in new brilliancy. The softtouch surface of the pump housing is another optical highlight.
With the Eisbaer you get a perfect allround product which is not only extremely powerful but also very quiet.

Pumps
The basis of the pump is the Alphacool DC-LT Ceramic Ultra Low Noise, which is also available separately. The pump runs extremely quietly and can be controlled from 7 to 12V. It is also possible to control the mainboard. Who runs the Eisbaer alone, will hardly have a loss of performance on 7V as various test results can testify. Thanks to the insulated pump housing, the sound development is further perfected and also ensures that vibrations are almost completely intercepted.

The bare and smooth polished copper bottom of the cooler also ensures optimum heat absorption and can transfer this quickly and efficiently to the water via the fine cross-slot structure of the cooler.

420mm is overkill for CPU cooling only, but pump seems to be a little weak in flow and maximum head to allow extra blocks.

That is simply untrue especially when some CPUs are using 140w+ at stock clocks, if it heat soaks larger will improve...
I've heat soaked many of 360 radiators on single cpu systems.
Another possibility is with enough size you maybe able to go passive in some conditions, I haven't tried this yet but I'd like to.

You can't be serious right, have CPUs with 200+ TDP and more cores not to mention people like myself who like to Overclock highly

Anyways,

Overall this looks like a great cooler option. Hopefully it's priced well

Only a small fraction of people push a CPU to the point of saturating a 360mm radiator, let alone a 420mm. I have an i7 5930 @4,2Ghz running with a Thermaltake 3.0 Ultimate (360mm) and it is quite fine.

The same can be said about passive cooling: people with a case large enough for this radiator are usually looking for performance.

A better pump would make more sense.

Is that a cpu block/pump/res combo? If so it'd be nice to just get that and pair it with whatever radiator you wanted.

This is nice for those who don't want the hassle of a full custom loop, but need good CPU cooling. I like the copper rad, but I don't like the weak pump and the lack of a decent-sized reservoir. For $170, it's not bad.

I'd combine as many as I could to chill the cpu. Just think you could use the front, top, and back of your case all tied together in harmony to cool that little 100mhz overclock on Intel chips.

Are you serious?

Super serious.... My HE-01 works great on full blast, which is LOUD. During the summer I have this beast underclocked to 4.4Ghz. Winter is wonderful though. When I turn my PC off at night, I've almost got tinnitus.
