BIOSTAR releases the H110M-BTC, the first Intel H110 chipset micro ATX motherboard dedicated for crypto mining systems; a great choice for newbies. Even with a compact design, the engineers at BIOSTAR have managed to squeeze 6 x PCI-E native support (1 x PCI-E x16 3.0, 5 x PCI-E x1 2.0) onto the H110M-BTC, while most motherboards normally provide up to 3-4 PCI-E slots. The H110M-BTC also supports all the essentials in optimizing your mining rig: 7th generation Intel Core processors, 2-DIMM DDR4-2400/ 2133/ 1866 up to 32 GB, HDMI and USB 3.0.

The BIOSTAR H110M-BTC is built from the ground up for mining, be eliminating features that are not enhanced for mining performance. It focuses on providing a high return on investment in making sure there is native support for up to 6 X PCI-E. The 4-pin 12V AUX power connector ensures enough power to keep up to 6 graphics card running stable. And it has 100% solid capacitors making the motherboard extremely durable. The monitor output supports HDMI KVM for easy management of multi-mining setups or D-Sub KVM for more conventional multi-monitor setups. All these power packed features on a micro ATX design, makes this a great choice for compact mining rigs.

The BIOSTAR H110M-BTC is fast with PCI-E Gen 3.0 that reaches up to 8GT/s bit rate to ensure the VGA connectivity is at its max. With USB 3.0, connect to peripherals without losing a step at transfers of 5 Gbps. Moisture-proof PCB, which improves the permability of the BIOSTAR H110M-BTC, one of the reasons for resistance to damp conditions. In addition, the Low RdsOn P-Pak MOS reduces energy loss with low temperature, small size and excellent thermal conductivity.

The ESD Protection to avoid overstress (EOS) conditions, Iron Heart Protection which protects the board from heavy CPU coolers by strengthening the back PCB of the CPU and OC/OV/OH Protection to detect overvoltage conditions and prevents voltage surges from spreading.

The BIOSTAR H110M-BTC rear I/O ports have the legacy PS/2 connector support, 1 x HDMI for resolutions of up to 3840 x 2160 @30Hz, 1 x VGA for resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 @60Hz, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, 2 x USB 2.0 ports and 1 x RJ-45 port. The BIOSTAR H110M-BTC is a great choice for newbies or anyone considering compact mining rigs. This is a truly unique motherboard with an affordable price point and still offering 6 x PCI-E native support and strong features that make it reliable for crypto mining.

The question is - why?
Space is the last thing miners care about

My guess is they had a microatx PCB they could easily do some minor modifications to and make a "mining board" out of.
