Rumors of a forthcoming GTX 1070 Ti have been circulating for some time now, but today saw the first concrete evidence of the existence of NVIDIA's latest card. MSI, a NVIDIA add-in card partner, has preempted the official announcement, by adding core voltage control for reference design NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti series graphics cards to MSI Afterburner 4.4.0 Beta 19. The latest build also includes numerous other changes, which are detailed in the source. As we reported earlier, the GTX 1070 Ti is part of NVIDIA's anticipated addition to its performance SKUs ahead of the holiday season and is, of course, a response to the release of AMD's latest GPUs, RX Vega 56 & Vega 64.

This looks more like card for miners. Why would nvidia release this actually boggles my mind. Vega 56 and 64 are selling for more than MSRP, much more and they are not even readily available. To respond to competition is to admit competition has a better product when they really dont. Unless they are losing sales to miners I understand, but when it came to gaming they already had the upper hand. Now pricing is already inflated on the 1070 and 1080, how does this fit in at 429 msrp still makes me think. I bet you find this closer to 500 when it hits shelves.

IMO, this is just them admitting that they cut down the 1070 too much.

Also yields could have improved between now and at Pascal's launch. 16nm was very new back then.

If mining was still a thing 1060/70/80 would still be out of stock. but these are back for good and prices dropping slowly but surely. new difficulty will be hitting the air-variety of the crypt currency just in time.

Meanwhile Guru3D wiped the "Ti" from change log. Either a typo or they spoilt NVIDIA's "surprise"

IIRC it's been there since the first Beta 17 release of version 4.4.0. So it's not only not recent news, it's not a typo(at least not on Guru3D's part).

EDIT: I did some fact checking to refresh my memory. It's been there since the Beta 17 release(from 9-22-17). I knew I'd seen it before Beta 19.

From the ReadMe PDF in the Doc folder of 4.4.0 Beta 17(also shown in Beta 18 & 19).
