A single click is all the effort a user needs to record and download video from tens-of-thousands of web sites with the new Realplayer. After install, a 'download-this' button briefly appears in the browser when playing video content. Video can then be downloaded in the background allowing users to continue surfing other web sites and it even supports multiple downloads. Realplayer can capture the most popular video format however it automatically recognizes and will not download video content protected by DRM. The program can be downloaded for free at http://www.realplayer.com

I don't like realplayer either, Surprizing, the one I like best for a media player is the add on program I got on the drivers disk that came with my LG dvd-rw

"Back in the late 90s, everyone used Real Player. Then those cocks at Real Network got greedy, and tried to get their application to take over your entire PC, and people stopped using it. Same thing is happening with Quicktime now. You can't install Quicktime anymore unless you download bullshit iTunes. This section was supposed to be longer, but I couldn't even install iTunes so I could bitch about it. Not that I could have used it for what I wanted to anyway:"

http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=macs_cant

The same way I feel about realplayer. The dancing sheep was cool in the 90's and all, but since then it has been shit. Besides, have people become so lazy as to foret get how to use a proper view source? Half my shit is "protected" that I use wget to copy from the sites main directory. Or just copy, paste and download.

I'd still take RealCrap video over some bullshit flash-encoded video that looks like its made out of moving, colored blocks. (I'm looking at you, Youtube!)

I also hate Real Player. I use the Real Alternative codecs with Zoom Media Player instead. Same with Quicktime, although Quicktime isn't nearly as bad as it used to be.

you have to convert them. There are a few .rm to .wmp converters about, but not many are free. :(

my windows media player plays rm, mov, and just about everything else, i think real alternative made it start playing them (or k-lite codec pack) either way, they do play on it without conversion

I always hated the .rm files (the only thing they have going for them is how small they are). For some reason they corrupted much easier in file transfers. I've put Real Player and Quicktime on the same level for a while. Both are a pain and I don't like either format.
wazzledoozle try "Total Video Player" /Recorder. No improvement in quality but much easier to play and they can be saved.

Real alternative. The lite version is just the codecs, while the normal version comes with Media Player Classic.
