The PUBG Development and Community Team has shared the name of the game's upcoming desert map along with some additional details on its regions. The map is called Miramar, and according to the developers, it deviates a lot from the existing Erangel map in terms of terrain and overall setting. Miramar is located in a harsh desert environment populated by different urban areas. Therefore, players are encouraged to develop new tactics to get the upper-hand on their opponents. The PUBG team also revealed some of the more noteworthy landmarks that are located in Miramar. The map will be available with the 1.0 update.

Los Leones
The largest city in the region, Los Leones features ample shopping, a skyline filled with new construction, and a glorious, golden-hued City Center. Players should secure high vantage points by exploring the numerous construction sites, and loot for gear in the cavernous, abandoned commercial buildings.

El Pozo
El Pozo is a city known for its large industrial and entertainment districts. Players can test themselves against all comers in the Luchador Arena, put their motorcycle skills to the test In the death bowl, or hunt in the ruins of the long dead textile factories.

Monte Nuevo
Monte Nuevo is the picture of a town besieged. Ramshackle walls built to protect its residents now allow players ample cover to explore the well-stocked compound.

Valle del Mar
Valle del Mar is a colorful oceanside town bisected by the De Toro bridge. To the West of the bridge is a quaint school, and to the East, a beautiful church. The key to holding this town is bridge control, as it's the only direct route between mainland and the island.

La Cobreria
The shipping and transport capitol of Miramar, La Cobrería's most prominent feature is it's enormous Rail Yard. Here, players will hunt and be hunted among the half-buried cargo of a long dead industry. Careful players should loot the schools and campuses that dot this town before attempting to hold the Yard.

San Martin
San Martín is located just west of Hacienda Del Patrón. Checkpoints and barriers have transformed this once-quiet small town into a war zone. Both sides of the town have overlooks, so careful players should scout first, before charging into town.

Pecado
Once a tourist destination featuring the largest casino in the region, Pecado continues to thrill players to this day with its mix of high-value loot and dangerous sightlines. Aggressive players will immediately loot the Arena and Casino, but savvy players should check out the 4 story hotels between them.

Chumacera
Chumacera is the husk of Miramar's once thriving textile industry. Long abandoned factories overlook a main road lined with residential and commercial buildings. Verticality in both the buildings and terrain make this town an exciting location to loot- high risk, high opportunity!

They should probably post screenshots at the graphic settings which allow the game to be playable. I took a break 4 months ago from the game and finally decided to dived back in yesterday. It is still a laggy mess with terrible optimization. Shocking this game hasn't suffered the same fate as KOTK.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Get rid of your potato for a gpu. :p

joking aside, lag and playable settings in reference to image quality are two different things.

It is laggy... it is unoptimized, but it doesnt take much to run it, really.

My Roommate runs it with a 980ti and I run it with a 390x we both get potato frames :) on low settings. We both have i7's as well.

Gtx 970 and I get mostly 60fps everywhere. Rare areas it drops to 48. It is not optimized true, but with a 980 ti it is completely playable.

Benchmark Scores Nyooom.
Try running above 1080p, at 1440p and 2160p the game engine shows its limitations.

All my systems have to run the game at very low with medium textures, to get a mostly 60FPS experience.

That said, love the game.

i read fast, read it all before replying. Having a heavily overclocked ryzen also narrows that gap considerably.
Those results are at 1080p and i game at 4K/1440p, so my GTX 1080 is often the bottleneck keeping the FPS in the 60-80 range (4k) and 80-110 range (1440p)

I really hope that patch 1.0 changes some things, because the GPU power required to run this game is absurd.

Indeed. The performance difference at the higher res closes considerably or is nearly gone (4k). That said, with a 1080 and a 7900x at 4.3ghz playing 2560x1440, ultra except i lower motion blur to half, im always 60+.

The problem is with 980ti most people also have your fps. For a shooter 60fps is not favorable at all. This game is just that bad.

A competitive shooter should be played at minimum 120 fps to take advantage of milliseconds faster reaction time. Yes it would be playable for casuals, but pros expect more than that.

This game is so CPU bad optimized... jesus christ!
If you have a mid-end i5 or i7 it will get bottlenecked.

Can't wait for new map. Game runs really well for me, 90-100FPS most of the time. Keeping in mind that's 8x8 square km. map + open world, developers have done amazing job.

I've heard people talk about the original map itself being the performance problem - things like one of the towns being straight from the Unreal store, so its totally unoptimised for how its being used.

If thats true, the new map will perform better and give us (and them) clues on how the original map can be fixed over time
