Metal Gear Survive, the upcoming spin-off from Metal Gear Solid V, will be dropping on consoles and PC this February 21. While console owners just pop the game disc into their consoles and start playing, the PC crowd has to worry about the system requirements. Konami recently added this information to the game's Steam page. According to the company, Metal Gear Survive should run fine on a system with an Intel Core i5-4460 with 4GB of RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650. However, they are recommending an Intel Core i7-4790, 8GB of RAM, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 to get the best experience. Compared to other modern AAA titles, Metal Gear Survive is relatively small and only requires 20 GB of hard drive space. However, gamers will need to have a steady broadband internet connection, since the game requires a constant connection to the internet even for the single-player campaign.

MINIMUM:
  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 7x64, Windows 8x64, Windows 10x64 (64-bit OS Required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4460 (3.40 GHz) or better; Quad-core or better
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 (2GB) or better (DirectX 11 card Required)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 20 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 7x64, Windows 8x64, Windows 10x64 (64-bit OS Required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 (3.60GHz) or better; Quad-core or better
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM

Thought about trying the game in Tokyo game show, but the waiting line was 90mins long. Settled with watching more patient people play it, and it looked bland as hell. Don't really understand at which demographic is this game aimed at. MGS fans don't play it for horde multiplayer or zombie killing or whatever more there is, and fans of the genre have better games at their disposal. Not to mention Vermintide 2 is coming out in Q1.

If it was a standalone game using the Fox engine, I would not complain, it could even be good enough, but put the MGS sticker up front just after the Phantom Pain's fiasco, that's shameful. This game deserves to die in reviews, be cracked on day one and be forgotten as fast as possible.
