BenQ Issues Announcement Concerning the Noise Issue with Their EC-B Series Mice

BenQ has detected that a small percentage of their EC-B series mice produce a noise which is noticeable to some users. The company narrowed down the issue to the high frequency vibrations caused by the Avago 3360 sensor and other internal components. These vibrations, which don't affect the mice's performance, are also harmless to the human body. The issue has been addressed and will not affect future products. But since customer comfort and satisfaction are important to BenQ, the company is offering replacement mice starting mid-March. EC-B mice owners who suffer from the noise issue can contact BenQ's service center directly for further assistance.

Good on them. Ive never owned a product of theirs but it's good to see a manufacturer make good on their product after a design flaw.

I bought a BENQ monitor last year, no problems at all and the quality/price ratio is miles ahead of any other brand of monitors.

Next time i'm looking for a new mouse i'll put this brand on my list.

Good on Benq doing this. I bought an EC1-B last month and it was making the high-pitched whine. It's subtle, but in a quiet room it was really obvious and I personally was bothered by it (ended up returning the mouse). Stuff like this happens, but it's refreshing to see Benq get it squared away and work with current owners.

Glad to hear it - I would hate it if my squeaky mouse was causing me health problems. Of course, my cat would freak out and attack anything that vibrates and looks like a rodent...
Perhaps BenQ should stick to making cheap monitors and leave the noisy mice to Ben Dover

Zowie/BenQ arguably produces some of the best quality and performing mice in the market. This is what a company should do, be open about the issues, take full responsibility for them and reassure that their costumers get what they paid for. I have two of the original Zowie AM since like 2013, still rock solid despite all the abuse I put them through. Previously I was buying a new razer mouse around every 8months.

The scrollwheel on their mice are the absolute worst. Much worse than most $10 office mice.
