MMD, the leading technology company and brand license partner for Philips Monitors, is announcing three new additions to the Philips E-line of consumer displays. Dubbed "E9", these models bring together outstanding design and extraordinary image performance for superior viewing and style. All three E9 narrow-border Full HD displays with Ultra-Wide Color technology deliver true-to-life visuals and immersive viewing angles for heightened convenience and enjoyment, whether at home or at work.

The new Philips E9 monitors all feature excellent 27-inch IPS LED wide view displays. Unlike standard TN panels, IPS provides superior image and color accuracy in addition to viewing angles of 178/178, making it possible to view the displays from almost any angle while enjoying remarkably crisp images and vibrant colors. These models are thus ideal not only for viewing photos, watching movies, and browsing the web, but also for professional uses that require color accuracy and consistent brightness. Ultra-Wide Color technology endows the E9 monitors with a particularly wide color gamut for deeper, more vivid, and more natural-looking colors, while the enhanced Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution results in phenomenal detail, brightness, and contrast for images almost real enough to touch. Furthermore, these monitors are easy on the eyes thanks to Flicker-Free technology, which regulates brightness and reduces flicker for more comfortable viewing, as well as Philips Low Blue Mode, which uses smart software to reduce harmful shortwave blue light for greater wellbeing.

Stylish design
The E9 monitors continue the tradition of smart design that has made the Philips E-line such a success. Available in a glossy black finish with an elegant metal stand, all three 27-inch models measure a super slim 9.94 mm and are equipped with AMD FreeSyncTM technology, which syncs the monitor refresh rate to the GPU frame render rate to achieve effortlessly smooth gameplay. The monitors also feature ultra-narrow borders for a seamless appearance and minimal viewing distraction, making them ideal for multi-display or tiling set-ups and a wide variety of uses from graphic design to professional applications to gaming. Moreover, the displays not only look fantastic, but respect the environment as well. Made with sustainable, eco-friendly materials that meet major international standards, the monitors are mercury and lead-free, are shipped in 100% recyclable packaging material, and provide energy savings thanks to their low power consumption.

Effortless connectivity
Equipped for universal digital connectivity, all three E9 monitors contain the necessary hardware to accept High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) input for high-quality digital video and audio transfer from a PC or any number of AV sources (including set-top boxes, DVD players, A/V receivers and video cameras). Ensuring even greater convenience and connectivity, the 276E9QJAB model also includes a DisplayPort connection for lightning-fast imaging and refresh rates, as well as built-in stereo speakers for greater enjoyment of multimedia.

The E9 family continues to grow
Beyond the new 27" flat screen monitors, the Philips E9 family is set to further expand with the arrival of several additional flat screen and curved screen models, all of which will feature an elegant, super slim 9.94 mm design and technological innovations such as AMD FreeSync technology. The 276E9QDSB, 276E9QJAB, and 276E9QSB FHD models will be available, with an RRP of £169, in March 2018. These will be followed by a 23.8" Full HD flat screen in May and a 21.5" Full HD flat screen in July. Philips has also developed three E9 curved models for less distortion and an enhanced immersion effect, which will be available in a 31.5" Full HD/QHD format and a 27" Full HD format beginning in May.

Full HD Freesync in 2018? I think you're more likely to use dynamic frame rate control in this era.
