DeepCool Intros Frostwin LED CPU Cooler with High DIMM Clearance

DeepCool today introduced the Frostwin LED, a dual fin-stack, tower-type CPU cooler. The cooler features two fin-stacks that hold on to two 92 mm fans in push-pull configuration, with provision for a third fan. Measuring 102 mm x 121 mm x 142 mm, the cooler has the height typical of a larger heatsink designed for 120 mm fans, and there's a design goal behind this. The fin-stacks are held high up from the motherboard, for additional DIMM and VRM heatsink clearance.

Four 6 mm-thick copper heat pipes make direct contact with the CPU at the base, with the two aluminium fin-stacks arranged along their ends. The two included 92 mm fans spin between 900 to 1,800 RPM when plugged into 4-pin PWM power inputs, or up to 1,600 RPM with 3-pin fan headers. At max speed, they push up to 80 CFM of air, with a noise output of 19 dBA, each. The fans feature blue LED lighting, with no control. The cooler weighs in at 740 g. It supports mainstream desktop CPU sockets, such as LGA115x and AM4.

So it offers lower cooling performance than regular 120mm cooler but uses same amount of space to enable ability to use hing profile memory heatsinks which acctualy are just for marketing and external looking? No, thanks

Wonder if Cooler Master (or whoever makes CM's coolers) is the OEM behind this - the mounting system looks very similar to the AM4 bracket I got for my 212 Evo, and the rest of the cooler looks like an extra-tall dual-tower TX3 Evo.

Wonder about the cooling capacity of this thing - if it had fit HEDT platforms it might have been an attractive option for people wanting dual-sided RAM clearance without going AIO or custom loop water cooling.

A higher quality fan in the middle would allow for similar performance and cooling without the need to jack the height up in fact you could then use a 140mm fan and wider fins. D15S for example. Or more creative options the H5 Universal. This is cheap for the sake of being cheap but offers nothing. Dual tower 92mm feels like this is straight out of 2003

Agreed. Also, for small builds there's something to be said for not having such a large cooler. Height doesn't matter much as long as it fits your case, but the other two dimensions can quickly start cramping everything up.

Considering the real budget coolers like the Hyper 212 EVO are in the 30-35 range now. The H5 universal can actually handle an OC offers performance maximum memory clearance on both sides and I can guess from the fans shown on the Deepcool likely quieter as well.

Considering the design has been reviewed before with better fans and loses to offerings like the Scythe Ashura / NH-L12 I would make a bet performance on this is probably not so great. However the heatsink design being reused from previous offers means they likely have back stock, Make a few small changes new box relaunch its a new products for the masses
